Out of curiousity how many people work?
I just recently started workin in a new place. i just feel really out of place not cuz i am the only asain there, actually far from it, i have many asian gals in my team but i just cant get on with them, their way of thinkin their interest differ..
i just wana know how do people keep themselves occupied or try and talk 2 these people? I am generally quite shy and also dont like discusin my personal life with others as the trust factor comes into account..

hmmm your one of the lucky ones, i am sum1 who dont get on with many ppl but do try, i cant get on with ppl who have annoy habits, it really ticks me off..

I've been looking for work for some time now....I'm going through a rejected-feeling-sorry for myself period cos no one seems to want to offer me a job.
I'm even more then willing to work voluntary. I've only applied in the Education and NHS sector, cos I want a job in which I can derive job satisfaction.
Should be starting work though in the next few weeks in a Islamic Summer School...

we spend on average 45% of our awake lives at work.
calculated with 7.5 hours a day at work, minus 7 hours for sleep out of 24 hours.
Its definatly a big chunk.
u gta be happy where u work, otherwise it can mess up ur life.
u gota be paid well, otherwise u can't perform well.
u gotta get on with people u work with, otherwise u find urself hustling.
its business at the end of the day, u get paid to do a job, as long as u do it, u shud be ok..
bottom line is, we only work for money, if it wern't for the money, we'd spend our time doin summit else, i dunno.. like pottery or summit.
gotta say, i love where i work.. many thanks to Allah.

I love my job. I love the fact I have a job. I love the fact Allaah has given me the faculties and physical means to maintain a job.
What I don't like is people who know me from work coming up to me in the supermarket, on my day off, and talking to me about work. It's my holiday. Gimme a break for the love of Pete.

Might start work once i start uni. I applied for loadsa jobs but my beard and sunnah clothing kinda works against me but inshaALLAH will not abandon the sunnah for the sake of a few pounds. InshaALLAH some gud muslim will employ me wen i go to sheffield.

I have little or no respect for men who dont
part of mans job/role in Islam is to be the breadwinner in the family

well its not like im just sitting at home and not doing anything!
1. up to age 18 was in school (did a levels in school)
2. 18-19 in madrassah full time
3. 19+ starting uni so its not like im not in education.
4. Totally agree that men are breadwinners and should work but i dnt think that i need to yet. Dont ask parents for money cos i dnt need it. Eat at home, study at madrassah and then back at home, y do i need money?
If i was either scrounging of my parents or needed money then yeh wud work but at the moment the lil money i got is enough, i dnt ask money from any1, and also am studying so im not a lazy person!

but even so-it wont be the end of the world if u got a part time job
cant be easy for parents to financially provide for grown kids
i dont ask for money either-but there's always sumin that u need to get

since i got EMA in Yr 10 havent asked for money.
Eid they give and wen i got my gcse and a level results my mother respected gave some money and bday also.
Driving lessons, tests etc paid for myself. Passed driving wen 17 and paid for evry lesson myself.
Madrassah fees i pay myself alhamdulillah.
Truth is i dnt ask for much, clothing etc i stick with sunnah clothing none of this fashion biznis so evrything is within means. Although i agree it wud be nice to give my parents respected some money.
InshaALLAH wen i finish uni in 5 yrs will drown them with my first yrs pay.

muslims today have no probs with women studying buy not too happy with them working for some reason? WHY?
and especially when women get married? cant a woman be married and work? if not WHY NOT? Islam doesnt stop her!
i can understand once the woman has kids then she has to stay at home to takE care and upbring the child until she is in a position to start working again. This should be a joint decision between husbband and wife.....

How did you pay for your driving lessons yourself if you don't work? How are you paying through Uni without a job?

It’s sad when some parents stress so much on their daughters education and push them into careers such as Medicine or Law and then get them married into household who believe that a “woman’s place should be in the kitchen”.
I feel that as long as children/household would not inconvenienced in any way women should work….(if they want to).
It bothers me that there is such a shortage of Muslimah’s in the workplace. Muslim women NEED Muslim women Doctors, Nurses, social workers, teacher’s etc etc
It’s good to keep oneself busy, such women are also less likely to suffer from depression.

I dont have a problem with Muslim women working.
They can work if they choose to, if my wify wanted to work i certainly wouldnt stop her, altho when kids arrive that may change i dunno.
I recon if girls can behave propperly in a work environment, without leading to anything thats inappropriate than it permissible. And like MS said the world needs female doctors, nurses etc etc.

1. Used EMA money to pay for my driving tests.
2. Aint started uni yet but once started i will get student loan and dont have to pay tuition fees plus i get a higher education grant of 1000 cos i come from low income family.
3. Basically i spend money wisely alhamdulillah and that is from ALLAH's grace. When i have the money i spend it on stuff i like, but can control spending so inshaALLAH financial situation will be manageable.

2. Women's emergence beyond necessity is fitnah.

Bihari is the name of my village back home, so i am biharwi.

but until she pregnant, theres no excuse for wifey not to work...
how long can it take to run da hover around, pop down to tescos, and do a bit of dusting?
