shariah about clothing

It depends on what you mean by flamboyant or colourful I suppose
It also depends on the society you live in. In some parts of Africa, for example, people do not look so out of place if they wear yellow, red or green. African clothing is patently recognisable with its myriad of colours and designs. On the other hand, a woman dressed in bight yellow or green in a Gulf state such as Abu Dhabi, would look quite out of place amongst all the black
The appropriateness of your clothing depends, and reflects on the society you live in, and needs to be assessed accordingly.
May Allah shine sweet faith upon you this day and times beyond. May your heart be enriched with peace, and may your home be blessed always. Ameen.
How come there is so much black clothing in the Arab world?
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
i personally as a female believe that a women should avoid wearing clothes where her figure shows. i have seen girls in hijab where mini skirts with leggings underneath, skinny jeans with short tops so when they bend down everything is on display, there is no point i feel wearing the hijab.
I believe it is linked to the hadith that narrates some sahabiyat walking out as though with black crows on their heads.
Black is also quite slimming and goes with most colours :--p
But this slight obsession with black today is, from what I've seen over the years, something relatively new. Old photographs and photos and paintings of muslim women show us that black was not the only colour worn. In fact, Ive seen old paintings and photographs where it seemed white was in vogue  Prophet Muhammad said "the best of your clothes are white"
May Allah shine sweet faith upon you this day and times beyond. May your heart be enriched with peace, and may your home be blessed always. Ameen.
Black is the new black is the new black.
Don't just do something! Stand there.
it makes no sense, as white reflects the heat, and black absorbs the heat.

I think, basically bright (i mean really bright) clothes are immodest, because they will cause people, (not just men) to look at you. anything that draws attention to your body can be counted as immodest.
but, if you wear something bright with a different intention to drawing attention to yourself, i suppose it would'nt be against shariah, because acions are based on intentions.
thats my view.

Why wouldn't it?
Don't just do something! Stand there.
What's wrong with pink? It's friendly.
Don't just do something! Stand there.
What about purple or red?
