Surah Mulk (The Dominion)

Yes, but they should not show his face from during recitation... in those bits he looks stoned IMO.

Re: Surah Mulk (The Dominion)
Probably the best recitation of Surah Mulk I've heard.
A person is approached [by the angels of punishment] in the grave from the legs then the legs say: "You cannot approach him from here for he used to stand on us reciting Surat al-Mulk"; when they approach his chest it says: "You cannot approach him from here for he preserved Surat al-Mulk in me"; and when they approach his head it says: "You cannot approach him from here for he used to recite Surat al-Mulk with me." Hence this Surah is the Immunizer (al-Mani`a), it immunizes one from the punishment of the grave.
Re: Surah Mulk (The Dominion)
Yes, he is mashallah very good.
Thanks for that info.
Would just listening to it be enough?
Re: Surah Mulk (The Dominion)
Listening has its rewards but its better to recite it as the Prophet ﷺ would not sleep until he recited it. [Tirmidhi].
However it's best to memorise it, and I've heard you have a good memory....
Re: Surah Mulk (The Dominion)
Not any longer... old age I think.
Re: Surah Mulk (The Dominion)
Is it acceptable to have the qur'an play in the background or do you always need to be concentrating on it when it is being recited?
Re: Surah Mulk (The Dominion)
My favourite Recitation of my favourite Surah! Even though Youtube don't work, I know exactly what you've posted up (call it male intuition).
Question: Is there (any special) reward from memorising the beginning bit only? Cos me and some friends were having a competition last year as to who could memorise it all first... and when one us 'won' the other two gave up. We only know the beginning bit (about the sky... absolutely beautiful meaning).

"When the Quran is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace: that ye may receive Mercy." [Qur'an 7:204]
'What is minimally sought, however, is to:
a) trying one’s reasonable best to pay attention,
b) avoid mentally busying yourself completely with other things (e.g. reading a book or article while listening to the Qur’an).'

Not aware of any "special" reward for memorising the beginning bit only, but memorising any verse is rewarding.
It will be said to the companion of the Qur'an: Read and elevate (through the levels of the Paradise) and beautify your voice as you used to do when you were in the dunya! For verily, your position in the Paradise will be at the last verse you recite! [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi]
Re: Surah Mulk (The Dominion)
Thanks.
I assume that listening to it when driving is a no no? (Not that I drive...)
Re: Surah Mulk (The Dominion)
Depends how good your concentration level is.
I personally can drive, listen and recite to it in me head all at once.
Re: Surah Mulk (The Dominion)
Mashallah.
he is ace.
