Quotes that make me smile

s.b.f β€”

β€œIf God had created man to offer Him prayers there are many angels to do this. Man was created to become human.”

I like this quote, it makes me happy because it reminds me that we are all human after all and don’t need to be perfect. It reminds me that we can all make mistakes, and the reason is because we are human.

How would everyone else interpret this quote?
And what quotes make you happy? please explain them

"Do, or do not. There is no 'try'"

I like this one when Im confused. I tell myself to stop being pathetic and get on with it.

A Yoda quote... from someone other than me. Who'd hav thunk it?

s.b.f β€” Wed, 31 Dec 2008 - 13:35
I do not like it and I also think that is both wrong and gives the wrong message.
Yes it does, but someone who just wants to clear things up in their heads, it can be a bit motivational.
For example, I dont like the "do not" bit of the quote. Makes me feel like iv failed. SO I want to do the "do" ; if that makes sense. Because it says "there is no try" it kind of pushes you a bit more to to do the "do" whatever that is.

okay my example may make no sense to you whatsoever.

"It is always the small things that catch your breath." - Ghandi.

I like this quote. Because I think its true. Sometimes, the big things in your life are boring and the same as everyone else. They dont really make you unique. Its like when your writing your CV,, and sometimes nearly everyones look the same,, because of the big things that people generally do. Like helping out in the third world. the big thing to do is going out there and building a school or something. But the small thing might be making one person there happy which gives you the good feeling really.

Again im making no sense. It only makes sense in my head. But any of you have a better example of what this quote means please say.

That sounds like something I would say!

Saying that, hard work HAS killed. The original marathon:

The modern Athens Marathon commemorates the run of the soldier Pheidippides from a battlefield at the site of the town of Marathon, Greece, to Athens in 490 B.C., bringing news of a Greek victory over the Persians. Legend has it that Pheidippides delivered the momentous message "Niki!" ("victory"), then collapsed and died, thereby setting a precedent for dramatic conclusions to the marathon.

made me kind of relax to be honest. I felt like why should I work if its bad for me anyway? A perfectbly good excuse not to do work, I think! πŸ˜ƒ

(Im changing this trail of thought, when I wake up tomorrow insha'allah)

Although its not something that makes me smile.
Its just a quote someone said to me recently that made me think.

the rock, the stream always wins - not
by strength but by perseverance."

If i keep trying... maybe things will work out.
If i bear my burdens and persevere maybe things will pan out.

I rather doubt it tbh.
