And I promise you, the dawn is coming.
Which is the longest night of the year? This one? next one?
Either way, soon every day will be longer than the last so rejoice!

What could could they put in there? That some nut jobs were out celebrating in the cold? and then... where do you go from there?

I didn't know people actually celebrated this! No wonder there's a bit of a hoo haa about it. And I agree the sky always looks amazing, not always beautiful to me, sometimes very vast and angry.
summer sky IMO looks better. mainly because it is there longer.
Maybe I should get a house on the other side of the world? always living in bright places could be good.

Hhmmm you don't seem to like the winter much. I think it can be quite cosy but I definitely feel a lot more motivated in the summer and definitely always get more done. I think winter would be nicer if we actually had a more proper and organised winter which lasted no longer than it really should.
I remember a time when the seasonal changes were very obvious which was IMO quite beautiful and inspiring, now it is just a blur.
Its not the winter as such - I do not mind the cold, probably prefer it to the heat of may/june/july - but those days are longer and brighter. I like that.
I also like the path to that - every day being longer than the one before it.

True, but I'd rather have a cold rainy day to a hot scorching one any day.
i think i like spring best - it has the right balance of sunshine and rain, it's sort of just right lol

And nice avatar pic btw!
A week late*, but its all downhill from here, folks.
Don't be fool by the predicted heatwave, for we all know that time can be decieving. a minute taken here, another there and suddenly it will be darkness all the time.
(*yes, it took me that long to find this topic.)

lucky you! a moderate smattering of rain is a blessing in this weather.

The weather has been beautiful.
But such things are not meant to last.

Its a reference to the Batman Movie: The Dark Knight.
It means things always look bleak before they start looking good.
An odd choice in topic title :/

You have to realise that I did take the quote rather litterally - it was the "bleakest" day of the year. the shortest one.
