If people wanna do it, then mash'Allah well done to them. If they don't wanna do it, then leave it at that.

The whole thing about surnames is pointless and tedious.

its is like when the sahabi asked the prophet ﷺ when will the hour come and the prophet ﷺ replied, forget about the hour, tell me, what have you prepared for it.

I think there's a hadith that mentions specifically that Prophet Jesus (as) WILL be questioned on the Day of Judgement, about whether he (as) told people to worship him or not. To which he (as), of course, will answer 'no'.

As well as being asked if he told people that he was the son of God.

No. I think the hadith is to illustrate that EVERYONE will be questioned about EVERYTHING. Allah (swt) of course KNOWS that Jesus (as) didn't tell people to worship him (as), or that (he) was the Son of God.

Its to show that EVEN the prophets will be asked on the Day of Judgement. I.E. WE shouldn't feel that any deed we do is too small to be asked of us.
