what do/did you have for suhoor/iftaar

yeah i must be. it just feels really strange all these caucasian scots walking past me not staring, not muttering just ignoring me it's soooo weird. It's all down to knowledge i think many of them know some basic things about Islam. If not that they just have better manners than the English? What am i saying the English would slaughter me for that comment, they hate each other with a vengence.

Yeah I heard that the central mosque in Edinburgh does a lot of reaching out to the community/interfaith etc, and during the Edinburgh Festival it is open to the public with Islam exhibitions etc.

Something I feel is lacking from mosques I've been to in London; they do a lot for Muslim community, but little da'wa.

How's it like in Cardiff? It's got the oldest British mosque.

First purpose built mosque was in Liverpool (but has since been demolished and rebuilt) by William Abdullah Quilliam (even though the Quilliam foundation take their name from him, they have nothing in common with his ideals/practices).

Oldest purpose built mosque that still exists (as far as I know) is in Woking and was built in 1889 by a British Orientalist.

Never heard of Cardiff mosque before. more info?

Fasting is haaa-ard. 38 degrees during the day. The nighttime is lovely though. My house has a courtyard and i can sit on the roof (it sound posh but most certainly isn't)

The kitchen is about 1 metre squared and the shower is in it! You have to pull a shower curtain in front of the cooker!

But all in all, mash'Allah I'm really happy here. The masajid are beautiful.
