How do you feel about Ramadan 2008?

Talking on the phones for about 8.5 hours when you dont get a breather because there are 250 calls waiting makes my mouth dry up and thirsty apart from that alhumdulillah everything is cool. I prefer being busy too!

LMAO i knoww! i went to like this meeting thing with school last year, during ramadhan, and they asked me if i wanted anything, i sed no im fasting. they were like awww alright then.. a few minutes later they put a glass of coke in and put it infront of me..! i was like errrmm dyu know when muslims fast were not allowed 2 eat OR drink? they were shocked lmao, still remember look on tha womans face haha, took me AGES explainig coz they were like all about dehydration etc etc haha.. bless

This year it seemed Ramadan came around so fast! And loads of ppl I've spoken to felt the same way. Last year I remember waiting and waiting for it, I suppose lots has happened this year at home so this year as a whole seems to have flown by.

I expected the fasts to be really tough but alhamdulillah so far so good. I always have this mental list of what I want to achieve in the month and inshallah I'm really determined this year and already really feel in Ramadan mode, which is good. Even being kinder to my siblings hasn't been as hard as I thought it would! The only thing is that in Ramadan the day just seems to fly, you want to do so much but there seems such little time.

Aaww good on you Naz for leading the way with salah at your home. I would absolutely love to read tarawih in the mosque but can't persuade anyone to come with me and I don't want to go by myself. Inshallah next year.

And welcome back Angel! Where have you been? And how are things?

ppl, dyu think thers any point in not watchin tv in Ramadhan if u kno your just gonna go bak to watchin it as soon as ramadhan is over? coz loads of people do that and i don't really get it.

and im tryin to complete the whole qur'an with translation this Ramadhan, but it takes really long, and the translation that i'm using has loads of brackets and footnotes which makes it hard to just keep readin.
Can anyone recommend a good one?, or tell me wot u do, plz 🙂

I alaways read 20 coz our local mosque reads 20. It would be too tight for the little ones to start off at 20 (they only ever pray when its ramzaan) so they are starting at 8. Im leading on sunday so their options are 20, 20 or 20 lol.

Why do they pray taraweh when its not compulsory but don't pray other prayers which ARE compulsory (depending on how young they are)?

Wouldn't it be better off to start them on the fardh prayers and once they do all of those then introduce them to taraweh?

I really like it, but I wouldn't say its 'easy'. Its in 'ye olde English' with words like 'doth' and 'thou'!

Because if they dont read taraweeh (which they think is compulsory but i have omitted to tell them it isnt) then they wont read Isha which is compulsory. They read fajar but miss out Dhur, Asr and Maghrib coz theyr lazy sods. If im at home to nag them then they will read it but if im not they will skip them.

I stated strongly, then faded somewhat. But today I had Iftar with ALL my friends as a going away celebration for me, and I had to make an emotional speech and everything!

Insha'Allah it has given me a boost until I get to Shams.
