Apparently, some people who have been destined for Jannah, smell a bit of paradise before they die.
So if you smell this new amazing smell..... you're about to die.
Imagine smelling this new burning smell or stench.

I don't know if it's even true for a general person but I've been told that this guy who was killed at Uhud said just before that he tasted the aroma of paradise. heard that one before?

No harm with people weeping, it's natural for people to weep when a loved one dies. Or are you talking about wailing?
