Ebay questions

Assalamu alaikum,

Has anyone made a fortune on Ebay from unwanted items?

Do you pay listing fees if your item does not sell?

How do you package your items?

Erm, my brother sold quite a few items on ebay, it depends on how big your package is, my brother used to use jiffy bags to package most of his items. Then you simply go to your local post office and get it sent off, as for the fortune bit, maybe or maybe not.

I wouldnt necessarily say ive made a fortune.

But ive managed to get rid of things that were just lying around the house and made money on them. Ive sold books, to old games, computer parts, MP3 players etc. Its just as a means of getting rid of old unwanted stuff.

Yes, you still have to pay listing fees if your item does not sell. Otherwise how would ebay make their money?

I bought a roll of brown wrapping paper to wrap some of the bulkier items (like MP3 Players or Computer parts etc) but some of the other items like games or CDs I just popped them into a Jiffy Bag (which is a padded envelope of sorts).

My brother bought me a dell laptop for my birthday, it came in a big walkers box on the day of my birthday which was pretty cool.

I tried selling something once but was told I would only pay the fee IF IT GOT SOLD. It didn't sell. I didn't get charged.

If they charged all the time it would put people off advertising. They make money from the millions of sales people make daily.

The media, government, tried to blow us, but they can't out the flame, or doubt the name.

Because you can't sell unwanted clothing on amazon.

your getting mixed up with the small percentage they take if your item sells (depending on what item it is, how much it sells for etc)

and listing fees - for advertising. Yes you get charged for that always, maximum 1-2 pounds. They do occasionaly have free listing days though.

you can make a profit if you sell large quanity of goods, and your profit margin is decent. for example if you buy 10 freezers in a bulk at a gud price and sell them individually at a competitive price - money to be made.

but if you have stuff you want to get rid off and you paid the full price when you bought it, its likely you wont make any profit on it as its probs last half its value, but if its unwanted you can cash in what you can get for it

i've sold mini-room fridges, phones, WWE tickets, and some fake gear on ebay Lol in the past...cant be botherd now

Do they not take 9% straight off the top?

9% is standard.
