Is it true that if you memorise surah Ya-sin and read it thrice at the time of your death, the pain will be less??

Probably depends on if someone is hacking away on you at time or not...

After coming straight thru a give way and nearly driving into a black cab – I realised I really wouldn’t have wanted to die in such a way.

Not scared of dying because I’ve accepted the fact I have to die on day but the way I’m going to die and the state I will be in my grave- that scares me

To be beautiful is to expect nothing in return.

the state you will be in is important

but i cant see how the way of death is? death is death, be it in your sleep or overdose

the way of death is jus the excuse God gives to call us back to where we belong

At death our bodies break down, sometimes when we're 90, sometimes before we're even born, but it always happens and there's never any dignity in it. ... It's always ugly. Always. You can live with dignity, we can't die with it.

but its not to say people who die in accidents werent jus as good people

i think were sayin the same thing

death is death, great to die in a nice peacuful good way, but whatever way you die - it isnt as important as what face you will show to your Creator

Except for the death of a shaheed, in that case it is important.

Raashid ibn Hubaysh narrated that Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) entered upon ‘Ubaadah ibn al-Saamit when he was sick and said, “Do you know who is a shaheed (martyr) in my ummah?” The people remained silent, then ‘Ubaadah said, “Help me to sit up.” They helped him to sit up, then he said, “O Messenger of Allah, (is it) the patient one who seeks reward from Allah for his patience?” Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said, “Then the martyrs among my ummah would be very few. Being killed for the sake of Allah is martyrdom, the plague is martyrdom, drowning is martyrdom, stomach disease is martyrdom, and if a woman dies during the post-partum period, her child will drag her to Paradise by his umbilical cord.” .(Al-Musnad, 3/489).

It seems bizarre. Stomach disease is martyrdom? Can one also consider, say, a heart attack martyrdom, or does it have to be listed?

Narrated in the four Sunan from Sa`id ibn Zayd (ra) that the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is killed trying to keep his property, he is a witness-martyr; whoever is killed trying to defend his life, he is a witness-martyr; whoever is killed trying to practice his Religion, he is a witness-martyr; and whoever is killed trying to defend his family, he is a witness-martyr."

It has to be listed. Dunno about the reasons of stomach disease but it has to be one of the most painful ways to go.

I remember a scholar saying: In Islam, a shaheed is someone who was so serious about being witnessing to Allah SWT, to truth that he was willing to die for it.

Gentleness and kindness were never a part of anything except that it made it beautiful, and harshness was never a part of anything except that it made it ugly.

Through cheating, stealing, and lying, one may get required results but finally one becomes

I can relate to that definition. Dying for truth.
