Benefits of durood sharif

Asalaamalaikum
There are many known benefits which are beautiful i created this topic to discuss or say some of them enjoy
hudafiz.
Well....
why don't you start with mentioning some benefits.
If a person sincerely sends durood 3 times in a day and 3 times in the evening/night his bad deeds of the day and night will inshallah be forgiven.
If a person sends 100 durood sharif a day the prophet pbuh will come to him on qiymah and give him salaam.
Every durood you send a cloud is made and the drop that falls on the mountain creates gold the one which falls on a plain creates silver and the one which lands on a non-believer opens his heart to islam.
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane, by those who couldn't hear the music...
The benefits of durood are phenomenal. I will inshaaAllah post some of the few ahadith about significance of durood. In the meantime, I urge you all to read this book, you will be truly amazed. You can read the book online.

The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.
Caught by our own thoughts,
We worry about every little thing,
But once we get drunk on that love,
Whatever will be, will be.

what is durood sharif. Is it another name for something? I've never heard about it before this forum.
Is it the same as salawat?
(Allah humma salli 'ala Muhammad wa ala 'ali Muhammad, kama salaita 'ala Ibrahim wa ala 'ali Ibrahim, Innaka 'alakal hamd)
Don't just do something! Stand there.
yes salawat
there are many differeny ones though, as well as Darud-e-Ibrahim as you mentioned

O Allah! May Your Grace and peace rest upon Muhammad our leader, the unlettered Prophet of Arabia of the Qurayshi tribe, of the Hashimi family of Makkah and of Madinah, who is the wearer of the holy cap, the one who ascended the heavens, who fought the battles and achieved boons and bounties, the one who has place of praise, and who is in charge of al-Kawthar fountain, and the one ever bowed in prostration to Allah (and Allah Alone).
The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.

One day a companion of the Most Beloved Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) came to the Beloved Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) and complained that his wife had tried to cook a fish for three days but was not unable to cook it.[7] The Beloved Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) asked the fish why it was not possible to cook it. The fish replied that one day it was swimming alongside a ship when it heard a traveller on board reciting Durood Mahee and it then proceeded to recite Durood Mahee. The Beloved Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) then informed the companion to convey this good news to his Ummah : that if anyone reads Durood Mahee once then the fires of hell are haram for that person.

Does anybody know what asalaatu asalaamu alayka is actually called?
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane, by those who couldn't hear the music...
The invocation of Blessings on the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is styled in Arabic as "Salawat", in Persian as "Durood", and in Urdu as "Salawat-o-Salaam".

Sayyiduna Anas (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "He who reads a single Durood upon me, Almighty Allah blesses him ten times, ten of his sins are forgiven, and he is increased ten times in stages (internally). (Mishkaat)
Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Ma'sud (radi Allahu anhu) also narrates that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "On the Day of Qiyamah, the closest to me from among the people will be those who have read the most amount of Durood Shareef". (Tirmidhi)
The same applies to namaz which is actually a persian word the arabic being salah.
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane, by those who couldn't hear the music...
Ibn Wahb (رضي الله عنه) related that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said:
Whosoever asks for peace on me ten times, it is as if he has freed a slave. Qadi ‘Iyad, ash-Shifa, 2:653.
Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) stated:
There is no Muslim who invokes blessings upon me (salutes me), but Allah returns to me my soul till I respond to him in return. Abu Dawood, Sunan, b. of manasik (rituals of hajj), (2: 218 # 2041); Ahmad bin Hambal, Musnad, 2:527.
There is also no guarantee of the acceptance of a dua (supplication) without invoking blessings on the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).
A tradition of the Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) states: Fadalah bin ‘Ubayd reported: Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was sitting amongst us, there entered a person and he prayed as saying, "O Allah! Forgive me, have mercy upon me." Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, "O worshipper! You have made haste in praying. When you pray and sit (at the end) laud Allah of what He is worthy of and send blessings upon me and then supplicate Him." The narrator said: Then another man prayed after him and he lauded Allah and invoked blessings of Allah upon the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), and the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said to him, "O worshipper! Make a supplication and it would be responded."Tirmidhi related in al-Jai‘-us-saheeh, b. of da‘awat (supplications) ch.65 (5: 516 # 3476) and graded it hasan (fair).
Other sayings of the Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) include: Invoke blessings on me abundantly every Friday, because blessings of my Ummah are presented to me every Friday. And the nearest one to me in rank is one who invokes the greatest number of blessings upon me. Ahmad bin Husayn Bayhaqī, as-Sunan-ul-kubra, 3: 249.
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) emphasized his closest companion, Ubayy bin Ka‘b (رضي الله عنه) to recite salat and salam abundantly. Ubayy bin Ka‘b narrated: I said, "O Allah’s Messenger, I invoke blessings upon you very frequently. How much of my supplication should I devote to you?” He said, "As much as you like." I said, "May it be a quarter?" He said, "As much as you like, but if you make an increase in that it would be better for you." I said, "May it be a half?" He said, "As much as you like, but in case you make an increase in it that would be better for you." I said, "May these be two thirds?" He said, "As much as you like but if you make an increase in it, it would be better." I said, "May I devote the whole of my supplication to you (that I make in my prayer)?" Thereupon he said, "In that case you would be free from care and your sins would be forgiven. Tirmidhi has graded it hasan (fair) and saheeh (sound) in his al-Jami‘-us-saheeh, b. of sifat-ul-qiyamah (description of Doomsday) ch.23, (4: 637 # 2457).
Allah (swt) has given his Angels and us humans the right to send salam on the Holy Prophet this is the Sunnah of Allah (swt) namaz/hajj/zakat etc is something practiced by the Holy Prophet but salam on the Holy Prophet is an act which Allah (swt) has performed and which he has commanded us all to do in the Quran, subhanallah!
For me the biggest blessing as Noor has quoted the Hadith is that it brings you closer to the Holy Prophet (saw), and also the fact that the Holy Prophet replies to your salam.
SUBHANALLAH!!
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane, by those who couldn't hear the music...
On the authority of Abdullah ibn Abbas (radiAllahu anhu), the Messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said,
“whoever recites the following (durood) once, Allah will instruct seventy angels to keep writing good deeds for him for one thousand days”
[hadith recorded in Tabrani]
جَزَى اللَّهُ عَنَّا مُحَمَّدً مَّا هُوَ اَهْلُه
Jaza Allahu 'ana Muhammadan huwa ahluh
May Allah reward Muhammad the reward which is benefiting as he deserves.
May Allah shine sweet faith upon you this day and times beyond. May your heart be enriched with peace, and may your home be blessed always. Ameen.
On the authority of Abu Hurairah (radiAllahu anhu), the Messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, “whoever recites the following (durood) eighty times immediately after Asr salat on Friday, before standing up from his place, Allah will forgive eighty years of his sins and grant him the reward equivalent to eighty years of worship”[recorded in Jami’ Sagir]
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدِ عَلى مُحَمَّدِ ن النَّبِيِّ الاُمِّى وَّ عَلى الِهِ وَ سَلِّمْ تَسْلِيماَ
Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammadin nabiyyil ummiyyi wa ‘ala aalihi wa salim tasleema
O Allah! Bless Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, and his family and grant them best of peace.
May Allah shine sweet faith upon you this day and times beyond. May your heart be enriched with peace, and may your home be blessed always. Ameen.
May every blessing be upon thee, O sweet and beautiful Madani.
May every moment be spent in saying your Darud. [19]
May I never leave sense, of the Madinan Hadud.
I wish that my destiny, be tied with Madina.
For there is the Prophet, and blessed Sakinah.
May I become a pious servant of Madina.
Fill my heart, O Allah, with the love of the Sayyid of Madina. [20]
For with your love, my heart glides like a kite,
Your radiance has provided me, with a guiding light.
I long to see the day, when I can be near your side.
I will stand and recite Darud.
It will be my honour, and my pride. [21]
Upon you, your ashiqs lavish great praise. [22]
To those who do not understand,
they simply dismiss this as a craze.
I swear by Almighty Allah, that I will never stop,
Reciting your Darud, until the day I do drop.
All praise and worship is for Allah,
For bestowing the honour on me.
Of being from the Umma, of the blessed Madani.
Excuse me if I cry, O Sayyid of Madina.
To behold your radiant face, that the Sahaba used to see.
What an honour it will be, for an unworthy one, such as me.
May every blessing be upon thee, O sweet and beautiful Madani.
Some may claim that you are like any one of us,
But who can claim, to have visited the Arsh?
We say bashr, but respect is also due.
For mankind are like rocks, but a pearl are you. [24]
Why cannot they see, the Magnificence of you, O Madani?
The Imam of the Anbiya, and the Leader of Allah’s Community.
You travelled the Seven Heavens, and your eyes did not lie.
For Jibril could not pass, but you, O Madani, glided by. [25]

I’m not sure if it is a hadith or a statement from the scholars but here it goes, there is know guarantee of your duas being accepted unless you have sent durood upon the Prophet (saw), so if you haven’t, there’s a high chance of your duas not being accepted.
