I've long gotten over this issue - here in London, my family follows the main 'saudi' mosques, whilst the rest of my family further up north follow the 'brelvi' mosques....all it now means for me is that I celebrate it on Wednesday, Thursday and even Friday with the selected few friends of mine who do it then...
The men usually get into a debate regarding when they should read their Eid prayer, whilst for me it just means getting dressed up and celebrating for three day days instead of one.

when is the mq idara doing eid?
we're fasting tomorrow and eid prayer will be most likely preformed on thursday, ah well. we'll have our own mini eid partay at home tmz.
Not entirely sure Sis. Havent started the phonecalls yet. But they usually always do it with a couple of mosques in my area who have announced they're doing it on Thursday.

is anyone else feeling this spiritual buzz, solely because it is the day of arafat? feels special.
who else is fasting today even though you're doing eid on thursday?
oh yeah, don't forget to recite the takbeerat-e-etashriq after every fardh salah!
Decide to give everyone their Eid pressies about an hour (lil ones have school in the morning). They all got a Eid hug and a smooch which probs wasn’t the best of ideas as i have a cold but hey i didnt see them complaining. Anyway they all liked their pressies which is a big relief.

Eid Mubarak to everybody on Revival - muslim or not.
Its time for eating a lot of meat. Everyone is slaughtering animals.
I intend to enjoy a few cows.
Omrow
wsalaam
i thought ppl sacrificed lambs or sheep on Hajj? Never heard sacrificing a cow before.
No not the gum drop buttons! – Gingy
unless i'm mistaken, i think that 7 people can share a qurbani of a cow and 12 people can share a camel.
Don't just do something! Stand there.
^^^ oh right didnt know that. Has anyone ever tried camel? If you have how does it taste?
No not the gum drop buttons! – Gingy
lol Omrow still makes me laugh.
We're actually doing the same. We're sacrificing a cow too.
Camel meat tends to be.... hhmm... well stringy. If you know what i mean.
Back in BLACK
had a chaand raat programme today, raised around £300 for charity. got everyone in the eid spirit.
eid mubarak to ya'll, whenever you're celebrating eid!
