Noorie you wouldn't last a minute in my house! Not a single minute!! With us, you either earn and spend your own money or you die, lol. Seriously, up until 18 Dad gives us what we need to literally get by and then after that you sort yourself out. Ok my Dad is extremely strict but I do understand some of the resons why he's like that... even though my Dad is very, very, very extreme. My Dad charged my brother 300 quid a month rent before he bought his own house. If you can earn your own money, why take your parents, it's theirs!
My dad isnt that "tite" im sure he just wants you to learn about the real world but my dad can try getting me to get cheap stuff and so on but i get my own way, my dad just gives in.

personally I think when someone reaches the age of 18 your no longer a kid even if your parents treat you like one.
Whenever my parents go out an im the only one at home they always tell me to lock the back door from inside and to check before i open the front door when the bell rings. I agree parents will be parents but it is our job as adults to say
mum, dad i want to start paying my own way.

wise man. Its good that he is tough coz it teaches one responsibility and prepares you for the real world. Kids who live off "mummy " and "daddy" are really gonna struggle when they get out their.
Ive paid my own way since i was 16. My £30 EMA would pay for driving lessons and food. I use to pay rent by choice, my dad would never take the money so i would go and pay it into his account without him knowing.

Mashallah that's really good. I'd never offer any of my money to my Dad coz he has enough of his own and to be honest as his daughter I don't think that I should, but at the same time I wouldn't take any money off him if I had my own or knew I could work and get my own. If my father needed money I would do my best to help out though.
My Dad's like that with us coz he wants us to teach us to be responsible. That's the only reason why... even if he is a bit mean about it.

I think there is a hadith on the lines that a parent has a right to everything the child owns...
