Eid ul Fitr 2007

Imaani

Salaam

So not long now…

Is anyone excited… or is Eid no big deal?

Does Eid feel like a ‘special’ or 'joyous' occasion?

What do you normally do on Eid?

What will you be wearing? Does everyone buy a new outfit especially for Eid? Do any brothers wear shalwar kameez on Eid?

Anyone give Eid cards? Or presents to family and friends on Eid?

Anyone here receive any money? Anyone here give any money?

Has anyone spent Eid in a different country? How did it compare?

Please share your thoughts.

Eid was good. Got some Eidi and some presents.

I only brought my brother a present (cos I've never brought him anything ever before).

Went to B'ham to visit family on Sat. Returned the same day.

Ate a LOT. Usually after fasting for a month, my appetite decreases. However, this year its almost as if I'm making up for all that I've missed this month :?

This week we're celebrating Eid in school, so I'll prob be going to school in my Eid clothes. Playing Sami Yusuf during lesson time and getting the kids to make Eid cards for their family.

I need to start looking up/reading up more about steadfastness. After my Umrah and then Ramadan...I'm falling into lazy habits again. Its very difficult to upkeep the good stuff and avoid the bad stuff when one is not surrounded by an constant flow of Mercy and a spriritual atmosphere/gathering.

Celebrated Eid with my class today. Got dressed up. Played Sami Yusuf. Made some Eid cards.

Taught the class some Nasheeds.

BTW you haven’t heard “Tala al badru alayna” until you’ve heard it recited with a very strong cockney accent!

I see. Our old Jewish friend has gone into hiding again.

They love to keep changing their clothes (IDs).

I think fear has gotten to their heads too much.

Come on 100man. Whats wrong? Whats all this hiding?

Just pick one Jewish looking ID, and stick with it.

We dont mind Jews here. Your religion is sister religion to Islam.
