Share your husband

Anyway, how'd you feel about sharing your husband? And for the guys, how'd you feel if your wife didn't care that you have a second wife?

Can't sleep. Think I'm officially an insomniac. But anyway, so in between reading the Catcher in the Rye  and contemplating whether I had ADHD or not, I came across the book review of:

Love, Inshallah: The Secret Love Lives Of American Muslim Women By Ayesha Mattu And Nura Maznavi

The title sounds boring. But I read the review anyway and found a quoted section of the book:

Camps, hair styles and flip flops

Most people know a guy who is 'camp' but not gay.

Now, I have two close mates who fall underneath this category.

They are also the type of people who will leave a lecture or party or dinner to go pray and then come back to whatever they are doing i.e. more committed than the rest of us when it comes to their religious duties.

But when I say 'camp', I mean the extra extra care in clothes style, the hand movements, the hair styles....one of them actually looks at fashion magazines.

Moors

Just watching a documentary about the Moors.

Anyone got any knowledge about these guys?

They were converted Muslims. So much info on them and so interesting.

Beethoven

the true identity of Ludwig van Beethoven, long considered Europe’s greatest classical music composer.  Said directly, Beethoven was a black man. Specifically, his mother was a Moor, that group of Muslim Northern Africans who conquered parts of Europe--making Spain their capital--for some 800 years.

If anyone finds anything seriously writtena bout Beethoven's african heritage, please do post here.

The Prophet (saw) and his wives

Dear all,

Just listening to the documentary called: 'Divine Women: War of the words'

Of course two of the women mentioned and discussed are Khadijah (ra) and Aisha (ra).

My questions are:

1) Aisha (ra) was the Prophet (saw)'s favourite wife. Is that phrase allowed to be said?2) Why do not hear much about any of the other wives?

3) Which leads to why is Aisha (ra) special in comparison to the rest of the wives?

Assisted suicide: islamic perspective

There are many similar topics out there.

Also topics similar to this are always debatable.

There can be either:
- Yes, I wanna help out and relieve this person of pain (assuming the person requiring help with suicide is chronically ill)
- No, don't believe in suicide

A middle ground isn't the most pro-active train of thought when faced with a sudden situation like this because you getting to that end result decision will be difficult. But the middle ground is where most people tend to lie.

Are there any historically related religious literature for such situations?
