The Love between Hazrat Abū Bakr (radī Allāhu ‘anhu) & Hazrat ‘Alī (radī Allāhu ‘anhu)

One day Abû Bakr as-Siddîq 'radiy-Allâhu 'anh' came to Rasûlullah's 'sall-Allâhu 'alaihi wa sallam' place. He was about to enter, when Alî bin Abî Tâlib 'radiy-Allâhu 'anh' arrived, too. Abû Bakr stepped backwards and said, "After you, Yâ Alî." The latter replied and the following long dialogue took place between them:

Alî - Yâ Abâ Bakr, you go in first for you are ahead of us all in all goodnesses and acts of charity.

Abû Bakr - You go in first, Yâ Alî, for you are closer to the Messenger of Allah 'sall-Allâhu ta'âlâ 'alaihi wa sallam'.

Alî - How could I go ahead of you? I heard the Messenger of Allah 'sall-Allâhu 'alaihi wa sallam' say, "The sun has not risen on any one of my Ummat higher than Abû Bakr."

Britain's first alcohol-free Islamic pub

Beer is being replaced by fruit juice and prayers in the country's first booze-free Islamic pub.

The Halal Inn has a juice bar, snooker tables and darts - along with a prayer room and a steam room.

Traditional Islamic "nasheed" songs are piped into the bar and boards for karam, a billiards-style game popular across Asia, are on hand.

Owner Azizur Rahman and business partner Muzahid Khan spotted a gap in the market and took over the building that used to be the Westwood Inn.

Mr Khan said: "It's a gathering place for people who abide by strict Islamic rulings and don't like going to places where they serve alcohol.

Booze-free: The Halal Inn was called The Westwood before it changed hands

Ka'bah key sets new Islamic art auction record

LONDON - A 800-year-old iron key to the holy Ka`bah, Islam's most sacred shrine, was sold at 18.1 million dollars at a London auction, setting a new record for an Islamic work of art sale.

"Remarkably, the sale realized more than the Islamic department's annual total in 2007," Edward Gibbs, head of the Islamic art department at Sotheby's auction house, told Reuters on Thursday, April 10.

Made of iron, the 37-cm-long key prompted a heated bidding battle before being sold anonymously at 9.2 million pounds ($18.1 million), more than 18 times its pre-sale estimate.

The key, formerly in a private collection in Lebanon, dates back to the Abbasid period in the 12th century.
