Naturally Blue

.

That had me looking through my snapshots - a lot are untagged so it is never a completely pointless exercise, even if this thread strictly is. Turns out I have a lot of evidence of blue. I'll update this when I feel like it, and other members should also feel free to add their photos (but not stuff from the web, that would spoil it). Please correct any IDs as appropriate. Smile

Right. Some of the commonest blue things in nature are flowers so here's for starters...

Nature and how to explore it

So, if you are a total beginner with nature exploring and have grown up in the urban jungle how would you go about discovering the beauty of the rest of the world? starting with the UK, Britain, the South East (for me)

where do we start? where do we go? how do we get there? what do we need to bring along? and any other relevant info.

so, was just looking at a map of britain online and saw those patches of green which seem to be national parks. that sounds pretty awesome. how does one prepare to go to a National Park? and what should one expect there?

GM Crops found to be potentially dangerous

There was alwaysa scare about GM crops or frankencrops etc and how they could potentially be home to dangers we are unaware of.

Most pro GM crop people called the fears baseless.

Except now a and it may not be benign.

from the article:

his is because there are clear indications that this viral gene (called Gene VI) might not be safe for human consumption. It also may disturb the normal functioning of crops, including their natural pest resistance.

So not just fearmongering then.
