Ahamdulilahi rabbil aalameen, wassalato wassalamu ala Sayyidil mursaleen, ama ba’aad. Fa a’audhu billahi minashaitan nir rajeem. Bismillahir rahmaan nir raheem.

Assalatu wassalamu alaika Ya Rasool Allah,
Wa ala alika wa ashabika Ya Habeeb Allah.
Assalatu wassalamu alaika Ya Nabi Allah,
Wa ala alika wa ashabika Ya Noor Allah.

The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) taught us Darood Shareef to attain salvation, perfect peace and maximum gain in this world as well as the next. The soul is the soil where the faith of Allah Azzawajal is to be implanted firmly and faithfully, which requires continuous recitation of Darood Shareef.

We have been told by Sayyiduna Rasool Allah (Azzawajal wa Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) that Darood Shareef is itself light and when Light enters the soul every aspiration is achieved and every goal is won. Nothing remains thereafter to worry about. (The excellence in reciting Darood Shareef upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam; Imam Ahmad Raza Academy, p. 11)

Salu Alal Habeeb – Sallallahu Ta’ala Ala Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam.

We are the humble people of Allah Azzawajal and the humble servants of His Beloved Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam). No doubt life is very short. All the time we are getting close to our death. Shortly we shall be buried inside the dark grave. Success is only in the obedience of the Creator of the worlds and in acting upon the Sunnat’s of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) who is the Mercy of the worlds. There are four rules if a person acts upon them and teaches others, they will find many blessings in this world and the hereafter (insha Allah Azzawajal). The four rules are:

Madina 1: the five pillars of Islam
Madina 2: following the Sunnat of Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam).
Madina 3: good character and
Madina 4: inviting people towards good

Salu Alal Habeeb – Sallallahu Ta’ala Ala Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam.

Dear Islamic Brothers and Sisters! Laylatul Qadr is a night full of utmost blessings. It is known as Laylatul Qadr – the night of power – as on this night the following years orders are issued. Meaning that, the angels write down matters of the following year. There are several other nobilities that occurred in this night. For example, in Tafseer e Surre Mansoor, it has been stated that in this night Esa rooh Allah Nabiyyina (wa Alayhis salato wassalaam) was lifter to the skies. In this night Bani Israiel’s forgivness was accepted. Sahib e Muzahir e Haq narrate that this night was the birth of the angels. On this night Hazrat e Sayyiduna Adam SafiyyUllah ala Nabiyyana (wa alayhis salato wassalaam’s) goods began to be collected. The trees in Jannat were also planted on this night.

It has been stated in Hadeeth from Bukhari and Muslim that whosoever spends this night awake and worships with faith and sincerity, Allah Azzawajal forgives his sins of the year. Therefore, this night should not be spent in neglect.

Dear Islamic Brothers and Sisters! In this night worship, asking for forgiveness and istighfaar should be performed in abundance. The one, who worships in this night, will be blessed with more than 1000 months, meaning 83 years and 4 months, worship!

This is Allah Azzawajal’s particular action that this magnificent night was blessed to His Sweet Beloved (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) and through the favour of Hazoor (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam), his (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam’s) followers were bestowed this night. Allah Azzawajal states in the Holy Qura’an (to the nearest meaning), “Without a doubt We sent it down on the night of power, and do you know what is the night op power? Shab e Qadr is better than 1000 months. In it angels and Jibrail (Alayhis salaam) come down, through the command of their Lord Azzawajal, they are safety for each work until morning”. (Surah 20, Verse 22)

My dear Islamic Brothers and Sisters! The importance of Shab e Qadr can bee seen by the fact that Allah Azzawajal has revealed a whole Surah about it. As you previously heard, in this Surah, Allah Azzawajal mentions some specialities of this blessed night. Mufassireen e Kiraam (RaheemUllah) in relation to this Surah, state that, in this night Allah Tabarak wa Ta’ala took the Qura’an from the Lowhe Mahfooz (the Preserved Tablet) and descended it to the first sky. Then within approximately 23 years revealed it to His Beloved (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam). This night’s worship has been determined to be more excellent than 1000 months worship. 1000 months has 83 years and 4 months meaning that whosoever gains the blessings of Shab e Qadr just once in their life time, it will be as if he has worshiped for more than 83 years and 4 months. Only Allah Azzawajal and by His telling His Beloved (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) have knowledge about how much the ‘more than’ is.

In this night Hazrat e Jibrail (Alayhis salaam) and angels descend and then shake hands with those who are in worship. Each moment in this night is safety, and this safety remains till morning.

My dear Islamic Brothers and Sisters ! It has been stated in Tafseer e Azizi that when our Beloved and Sweet Lord (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) inspected the long ages of previous Anbiya (Alayhimmus salaam’s) followers and the short ages of his own ummat, then, Sympathiser of his followers, King of Prophet’s (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam’s) heart became full of affection and he (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) became upset that even if my ummat performed loads of good deeds, even then they would not gain equality. Therefore, Allah Azzawajal’s mercy came top heat and He blessed His Beloved (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) with Laylatul Qadr.

Some Mufassireen e Kiraam (Alayhimur Rahmat) when talking about the grace of Surah Qadr have stated one faith enlightening Hadeeth. Its abstract will be mentioned. Therefore, they state that our Makki Madni Lord, King of both worlds (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) was once telling the Companions (Alayhimur ridwan) about the goodness of one saint of Allah, Hazrat e Shamoon (Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alayh). It was stated that, Hazrat e Shamoon (Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alayh) spent 1000 months in such worship that at night he stood in prayer and fasted during the day, along with this he fought the non-Muslims in the path of Allah Azzawajal in Holy War. He was so strong that he used to break heavy iron and strong chains with his hands. Allah Azzawajal bestowed upon him power and courage, due to which he over powered his enemies. His enemies were dejected to the extent that they sent a message to his wife with and offer of a tray full of gold. Provided she imprisoned her husband, to enable them to make him their prisoner and get rid of the great warrior Hazrat e Shamoon (Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alayh) for a peaceful life.

So when Hazrat e Shamoon (Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alayh) was asleep his wife tied him up with ropes made of date trees bark. When Hazrat e Shamoon (Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alayh) awoke he shook his body and the ropes broke into pieces. He then asked his wife, “Why have you do so?” She replied, “I wanted to assess you power, that how would you break free from these ropes”.

When the infidels received this news, they sent a thick chain to the woman. So when she got a chance she tied Hazrat e Shamoon (Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alayh) with iron chains. As soon as Hazrat e Shamoon (Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alayh) awoke he broke the chains in an instance and was free with ease. With slyness his wife repeated that she was testing his powers. During conversation, Hazrat e Shamoon (Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alayh) told his wife his secret that its is Allah Azzawajal’s mercy on me that He has blessed me with his wilayat that nothing of this earth has effect on me, besides the hair on my head. The sly woman understood. She was blinded by love of the world and in the end when she got a chance she tied Hazrat (Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alayh) with the 8 hairs he had on his head, the length of which touched the ground. When he awoke he tried his best to free himself but was unsuccessful. The wife, who was intoxicated by the wealth of the world, handed her good and pious husband to the enemy. The enemy tied Hazrat e Shamoon (Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alayh) to a pillar and cut his nose and ears and took out his eyes. Allah Azzawajal could not bear to see his Wali e Kaamil in this state so he buried the infidels inside the earth and put calamity on the unfortunate wife who was after the greed of the world. (Mukashifatul Qaloob)

When the Companions (Alayhimur ridwan) heard about the worship, struggles and difficulties of Hazrat e Shamoon (Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alayh) they became envious and stated in the court of the Lord of Mercy (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam), “Ya Rasool Allah (Azzawajal wa Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) we have received less age, in which some is spent in sleep and some in desire of livelihood, eating and cooking and spent in other worldly matters. Therefore, we cannot worship like Hazrat e Shamoon (Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alayh) and as such, Bani Israil will increase us in worship”. Sympathiser to his followers (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) became sorrowful after hearing this. Straight away Hazrat e Sayidduna Jibrail e ameen (Alayhis salato wassalaam) came to him and from Allah Azzawajal presented Surah Qadr and was given satisfaction that Sweet Beloved (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) do not be sorrowful We have presented your ummat with a night, once a year, that if they worship Me in this night, their worship will be more than that of Hazrat e Shamoon (Rahmatullahi Ta’ala Alayh’s) 1000 months worship.

Allah hu Akbar! Dear Brothers and sisiter!! How merciful is the Merciful Lord Azzawajal on His Beloved (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam’s) followers that He has through the blessings of the Sweet Lord (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) granted us servants with such a special favour, that if we wholeheartedly and with attention spent the night of power in worship, then we will gain reward more than 1000 months worship. But aah! Where do we have the respect for the night of power? Because of the Companion’s (Alayhimur ridwan) desire we have gained such a big reward without any desire for it. The Companions (Alayhimur ridwan) had respect for it but we are ungrateful and don’t even have time to worship! Aah! We loose this yearly, excellent reward in negligence.

My dear Brothers and sisiter! This night from beginning to end is mercy, full of mercy. There is no doubt in this matter. Accordingly the King on Madina (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) has stated in a Hadeeth, “A month has come upon you, in which there is one night that is better then 1000 months. Whoever is excluded from it has been excluded from all goodness and no one is excluded from this night of power except that person who is truly deprived”.

O our Sweet Allah Azzawajal through the tofayl of Your Sweet Beloved (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam) grant us sinners the ability to respect and acknowledge the night of power and in it grant us the ability to worship You as much as we can. Ameen bi jahin Nabiyyal ameen wa Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam.
