The BBC licence fee could be cut as part of the government's public spending austerity drive, the culture secretary has said.

While I am not too bothered by cuts in funding to the BBC (and I do think they should be forced to offset some ventures by playing the same rules as others by making them commercial entities... I hear Radio 1 is only pop music etc, so that should be funded through adverts...) I do wonder how much this as to do with the unholy alliance between Cameron and Murdoch before the elections?
I saw the press review on SKY News last night and I do think the channel is slowly but surely morphing into something else.
