Bionic eye gives blind man sight

A man who lost his sight 30 years ago says he can now see flashes of light after being fitted with a bionic eye.

Ron, 73, had the experimental surgery seven months ago at London's Moorfield's eye hospital.

He says he can now follow white lines on the road, and even sort socks, using the bionic eye, known as Argus II.

It uses a camera and video processor mounted on sunglasses to send captured images wirelessly to a tiny receiver on the outside of the eye...

One-eyed man creates prosthetic 'surveillance' eye

A one-eyed man has taken advantage of some of the world’s smallest imaging and data transmission technologies to help him create documentaries filmed from the first-person perspective.

Rob Spence, a 36-year-old film maker from Canada, finally had his eye surgically removed some 13 years ago - and a further 13 years after the organ was badly damaged in a shotgun accident.

However, he and a team of ocularists, inventors and engineering specialists are now working on the Eyeborg Project – the development of a prosthetic eye that captures and transmits video...

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

Wanna hear a more amazing story..... I'll tell you anyway.

Qatada (ra) was hit by an arrow and one of his eyeballs came out and was hanging by his cheeks. He held it with his hand and went to the Prophet (saw). The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) used his hand to replace the eyeball in its socket and the eye healed at once.

The eye which was put back in became even better than the other one.

The story was narrated to us by a shaykh and that's all I know.

He was telling us stories of the different ways the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) healed people.

There is another story if you're interested...

Abu Bakr (ra) and the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) were traveling and decided to take shelter in a cave. Abu Bakr decided that he would go in first and check before the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) went in.

He went in, and blocked all the holes in the cave except two.

They went in and Abu Bakr sat down and blocked the two holes with his feet.

The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) went to sleep, resting his head on Abu Bakr's lap.

A snake bit Abu Bakr from inside one of the holes and Abu Bakr was in pain but he didn't move as he feared that he might wake up the Prophet (saw). However he started sweating.

A drop of his sweat fell onto the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) and he woke up and asked Abu Bakr what was wrong with him, and he said what had happened.

The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) wiped his saliva on the feet of Abu Bakr and it healed instantly.

Now, that would be prejudice!

Actually, I think its a good idea to be wary of anything that can bite you - especially if its poisonous.
