How to become more newbie friendly.

Salaam

This forums *was* supposed to be extremely simple and open. However it may not be meeting that goal (Kamilah said something along the lines of it being confusing...)

So, how can it be simplified?

My thoughts:

1. Rename the Rules forum to "Hello, New members." or something.
2. Have the rules and guielines as sticky in there.
3. Move the Hello new members topic from general to "Hello New members"
4. Split it up so each new intro is a new topic.
5. Allow new members to start a new topic to introduce themselves.

Whaddaya think?

good ideas but no. the forum is fine as it is Smile

even if u was to change it to how u suggested, they wud sign up, introduce themselves and disappear.

That don't matter.

Some people may not like it that they introduce themselves, and get a reply "You should have not created a topic - use the hello new members topic!"

This will change it to the Mod just moving the topic into the right forum.

They can still disappear if they like. But our work flow will be all sorted out.

1. yes
2. yes coz that way new members can access and read the rules before registering.
3. no
4.no
5.no because then whats the point of having the new member topic if they are gonna set up a new topic to introduce themselves :?
