assalamu alaikum,
I remember learning this surah and surah yasin off by heart in the masjid, i never understood it then, but i duno i always loved it for some reason. It was very easy to memorise. to this day i always say it before i go to sleep and i read it over my son aswell. I've read somewhere it can be recited as a dua and then you blow over your chest or a loved ones 3 times.
There are many hadiths extolling it's virtue look them up, one says this surah the verse of the throne amounts to reading a quarter of the Quran.

It's a very powerful surah as is surah Yaseen.
