Protection of Unborn Children - Oldham Event

To all Muslim Sisters and Brothers please join us - and stand up against the injustice of abortion.

Every year supporters of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children give silent witness to the millions of babies killed by legalised abortion in Britain. They stand at the side of major roads and intersections holding placards which bring home the reality of abortion. This year commemorates the 41st anniversary of the implementation of the Abortion Act on April 27th 1968.
Can you please help us as Islamic supporters in our campaign to stop the killing of thousands of innocent unborn children through abortion?

But i mean... these people getting abortions know what they're doing...

If anything, shouldn't people be making an effort to make sure they make an informed decision?

What's the point of protesting and making these people who are probably already emotionally distraught feel even worse?

I thought we were all responsible for our own actions and only those?

Why not protest for Gaza....they actually WANT you to.

Not always.

Care to explain?

Those with a perverse sense of humour may or may not find funny. Or offensive.

As for the original topic of "protesting" against abortion, I doubt placard waving is the answer in any way. It may register that you are against this (which is a good thing to register on some issues, but not others). Education may give a bigger and better result, from prevention to keeping.

Archbishop condemns pregnancy ads

'I would never want abortion presented as a simple solution'

The incoming Archbishop of Westminster has called on Catholics to oppose proposals to allow pregnancy advisory services to advertise on TV and radio.

The services, some of which provide abortion information, would get airtime as part of proposals aimed at reducing teenage pregnancy and sexual infection.

The Most Rev Vincent Nichols also urged Catholics to fight more condom adverts.

He said existing condom ads "demeaned" young people by depicting "drunken" and "casual sex on the street corner".

The new archbishop was appointed by the Pope last week - replacing Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor - and will be installed at Westminster Cathedral on 21 May.

The idea to advertise pregnancy advisory services is part of a review of advertising codes by the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) and the Broadcast Committee on Advertising Practice (BCAP)...
