Domino's Pizza, which was among the first fast food outlets in Britain to serve halal-only takeaways, has ditched the menu after poor sales.
The chain enraged customers 18 months ago by completely removing pork from its pizzas in favour of halal-only meat at its branch in Hall Green, Birmingham.
But the pizza firm have been forced into an embarrassing U-turn back to their original menu due to poor sales.

I don't think the report is correct in calling this embarrassing - it was a brave move and one that ultimately didn't pay off.
They needed to make the venture financially viable and since that has not happened, its not unexpected that they go back to their better trodden path.

You know there are other non-pork meat out there that people can enjoy just as much.
What if they did it pragmatically? What if say only sold pork at a certain window of the day and encouraged people to eat beef or lamb pizza instead?

The question is one of cross contamination.
If they could somehow stop the haraam stuff contaminating the halaal stuff, then they could probably have it on all the time too, but things get tricky if the people are not well versed in halaal food etiquette and they manage to use the same utensils without cleaning or wear the same gloves when dealing with the different foods.
Saying that, I assume in those locations there would have been plenty of halaal food takeaways etc too.
