How long has this been happening?

For a few years, but every year seems to be worse than the one before it atm, and the recent sanctions put on the government seems to not ahve helped the situation.

A decade ago, Zimbabwe was probably the richest sub saharan country with the best infrastucture, quality of life etc and now its all gone to pot.

Most of it is due to Robert Mugabe and his quest to hold onto power, but even here the west (UK) has played its role by not allowing a proper transfer of land with compensation from "colonial" hands to "native" hands (even though most has been seized and handed over to Mugabe's cronies who have squandered its natural opportunities.)

Makes me wonder where the western humanitarian armies are now, oh that's right they're still in Iraq liberating them, and they're trying to liberate afghanistan.

I didn't think about the recession in the UK when i saw that clip, i immediately thght of how ungrateful we muslims are. Forget the western world and all the injustices, what about us muslims? We have a lot to answer for. I just thght look how much muslims particularly indopak ones ask for dowry in Gold? They are not content if that a good decent brother marries their daughter they want to deck her with Gold, and say look how much tullah Gold my daughter has got. Never mind that she doesn't need it. Never mind that the guy will be in debt for many yrs to come. Never mind that ppl are dying because they can't get together a few grains of gold for bread?

r there any muslim charities that give to zimbabwe?

I doubt there is and a further problem would be the sanctions on the country. No ideas if they will stop aid getting in or not - I doubt they will.
