I was just reading something a few days ago and a part if it was describing a type of person. Half way through, I thought "wait a minute... is that me?"
It was a description of problem people, who seem to be able to cause problems in organisations, decision making and more:
...Think about the man who…
- Speaks for a long, loud, first and often
- Offers his opinion immediately whenever someone makes a proposal, asks a question, or if there’s a lull in discussion
- Speaks with too much authority: “Actually, it’s like this…”
- Can’t amend a proposal or idea he disagrees with, but trashes it instead
- Makes faces every time someone says something he disagrees with
- Rephrases everything a woman says, as in, “I think what Mary was trying to say is…”
- Makes a proposal, then responds to each and every question and criticism of it – thus speaking as often as everyone else put together (Note: This man often ends up being the facilitator)
So what do you think? how well do you think that excerpt describe me?
Have you ever been reading something only to realise that some of the description of an individual may be more than matching of you?

do you do all those things? They don't sound like you

Nope, not all (and some may "need to be translated" to get into context).
besides, what you see yourself as may not be what others see you as.
EDIT - I sometimes rephrase other people when I think the message is not getting through clearly. I seem to make like 50% of the posts - offer my idea, then reply to almost every post in topics so that it is me and the world.
I do sound authoritative. far more than I am. I however can accept flaws in my opinion etc and make ammendments.
That covers most of it.
