You know how Romanticism was like a big nature-love fest? (Blake, Wordsworth etc etc going on and on about nature and its beauty in their poems) or Keats’s description of a female, well recently I realised that nature really is pretty wonderful.
Like did you know one of the signs of Allah’s handiwork (maybe that’s not the right word?) is the concept of nature? Of course you did and so did I. But I read in the Qur’an (this is where it all began – naturally!) specifics like the way a tree’s leaves turn brown or fall off and how it fantastically blossoms again and I realised mannn the colour of leaves and leaves in general are really awesome, what with their different shapes and sizes and smells and um stuff..
I alsooo found that the Allegory of nature is used to describe a person. Like Allah can, from dry ground create life and in the same way He can plant in us some sort of understanding of the Deen (before we were like dry, dead land and with Deen we’re like blooming, nourished individuals)
Oh and each blade of grass and each delicate flower, they withstand so much: stomping, prodding, being eaten! Ok I get that grass and flowers rejuvenates so technically the initial blade is not ‘staying alive’ (or is it?) but still!
I particularly like Asiatic lilies, they are just so pretty! (I only realised this when researching flowers for parts of my disso by the way) And I always wondered why people got so excited when they received a bunch of flowers, but they are actually lovely you know, and just imagine how much time and effort the florist spends on the arrangement!
So now when I hear Louis Armstrong’s ‘What a Wonderful World’ – I’m feelin him blad (ha!) – *Ahem* Yeh so I’m feeling what he’s singing about!
Although ok I still don’t like to be in touching distance to certain, particular animals but I do appreciate that Allah made them for a reason and that they too have a purpose – some of them (actually I’m sure they all are in some way or another) are quite fascinating i.e. the Leopard Gecko – actually a Lizard (I went to The Tropical Zoo and learnt A LOT – grinno) who can DETACH THEIR TAILS, which is actually a tail full of fat, to save themselves from predators (it has nerves in it which kind of wiggles around while the actual lizard runs away or stays really, really, really still)
Crazzzzzyyyy right?!
Heyy! Am I boring you? Goshhh WAKE UP AND SMELL THE (coffee) FRESH AIR!
Sighh

seems like an appropriate place to add this:
"I feel sorry for pigs; all religions hate them"
lol
"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi
Ever noticed how the names Rumi (the words biggest poetician about love) and Romeo (the world biggest fool when it comes to love) are so similar?
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
Rumi and Romeo - sort of reminds me of Romulus and Remus hmm.
Anywayy, heyy Romeo wasn't a foool - he was just, you know, sort of unlucky and irresponsible (first he's so hung up on Rosaline and when he sees another pretty face - Juliet, wham Rosaline? Rosaline who?)
Jihad of the Nafs (The Struggle of the Soul)
Lol i meant crazily magnificent!
Water? Well apart from the fact that water is what makes the larger part of us (this always reminds me of that guy in the film version of X-Men 2, the Senator who becomes infected and turns so water like that he bursts and dies - R.I.P) anddd it covers most of this world, the fact that water is able to literally be everywhere - frozen, it makes antarctica, heated it makes clouds then rain - which we need to survive of course. It's a home to sooo many animals and the fact that the seas meet but don't mix:
He has let loose the two seas, converging together, with a barrier between them they do not break through. (Qur'an, 55:19-20)
What's so special about it(?)
Oh and a little lightbulb went off in my head just now realising that i was sure your picture had water in it then another one went off and realised your 'name' is Ocean lol - great detective work, i know
