Endless Possibility

At 00.18 (today so before Sehri and after Taraweeh) my phone started to vibrate and the caller? Well exactly. Weirdly I had the number saved under ‘?!’ – Ok somewhere at the back of my mind I vaguely remember saving the number as that but I actually have no idea why. So the detective in me gets to work (a mixture of, lets say Columbo, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) and of course Monk – tell me you watch or at least have heard of these!)

Ok so, my analysis:

The question mark ‘?’ (Visual aid) suggests I don’t know who the number belongs to while the exclamation mark ‘!’ (It’s helping right?) has connotations of a warning perhaps? Or perhaps importance. Although if the latter was the case wouldn’t I have simply typed the persons name?

Additionally by naming it ‘?!’ the entry ended up being the very last one on the list (even after all the Voicemail numbers and other Help/Customer services) so maybe that means that the number was necessary for me to keep but not important enough for it to be part of my contact list.

Orrrr maybe that’s just because I didn’t have a name to save it under. Oh and I don’t recognise the number either just so you know. Hmm

What’s more, today (at work) my phone vibrated again, this time from a landline number, I answered in the narrow left corridor which connects to the back/stock room (I don’t know why I’m being this precise by the way) by saying ‘Hello’ in a professional (it could have been a job interview, or rather the company that I will be joining soon) but questioning tone (it beats the awkward silence where I have to prompt the caller to actually tell me who they are) but no one replied. So I repeated myself twice (I think it was thrice altogether, it seems most logical) and then the person hung up. Ok..

Here’s me with my phone in my pocket, answering a call at work (did I mention that?) when I technically shouldn’t even have my phone with me and the person hangs up. Man.

Possibility number (what number is this?) is that maybe it was a prank call (or crank call or “blank call” as some people say) but why leave your number? You never ever leave your number because it just totallyyy ruins the fun of actually pranking (or cranking or blanking) someone!

Unlesssss the people (or person dun dun dunnn) wants me to know their number..

Hmm Take Two.

When I got home, well actually it wasn’t when I got home, it was a couple of hours later, I remembered '?!'s' call so decided to text the number and ask who it is. (I also should have rang the landline but I didn’t – haven’t yet) This was at 19. 42 and so far I've had no reply..

Dun dun dunnnn

Anddd Cuttt!

[P.S: Yes I know there could be some reasonable explanation for all of this but this way is just wayyy more exciting! Grinnnnnoo – (ok I think I’m saying that in like every post but please, just bear with me!)]

i want to know what is happening! you have created suspense! not fair!!!

plus you have to think, naming a contact ?! on a phone is kinda annoying coz its the same button that you need to press (hopefully your phone isnt one of those keyboard one) so that mean you didnt call this contact quickly to just save it. you actually bothered to select "?" and then wait and select "!" again. what does this mean??!

^^this above argument can be completely crush if you have a keyboard phone..

i love the fact that you chose to text the number instead of calling the landline/mobile number.

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

Lol ha i'm not liking keyboard phones and so i don't have one (because everyone seems to have got them and liking it kinda makes me feel like a sheep - baa) ahem so ur um theory is defo valid! So tell me, what would you do?

(Oh and still no reply back from the text - sigh)

We're just waiting for part two.

(A thought did cross my mind considering the naming conventions to be quite weird... more words generally help when saving files or contacts in this occasion.)

i would euh...wait you cant really do anything because you dont know if the call at work and the ?! are from the same person. So patience is the only thing at the moment, except...if you wanna dare CALL o.o

wil you dare?

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

It can't hurt.

At the same time, why bother? Mostly it would be a case of "got better things to do" or "cba".
