@ Metallica, why are you asking so many questions following a line when you simply outsright rejected my link to a scholars opinion on this just a few posts earlier?

No matter what the opinions are, music is not important enough to waste your life over - especially if you are all consumed by it like you suggest you are.

okay okay,

I will type, without any mistakes.

Now, is it true? The Luqman Surat verse 6?

and can we draw??? im not saying that I have the power to create , just drawing. like a tree or somebody or nature..

The link I posted covers exactly that.

If you cant read it for an immediate answer, you have no hope in this world.

Remember that even for your musical stuff, there are queues and waiting and you don't seem to have the patience for such things.

you know what?

GO READ SURAT LUQMAN 31, VERSE 6 AND TELL ME WHAT DOES IT MEAN

I told you where to find your answer.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

im asking YOU YOOOOOOOUUUUUU WHAT DO YOUUUUUUUUU THINK????

Just read the link,

The suggested translation is that it means either a combinaton or "an excess in use of musical insruments" as opposed to a blanket ban.

But even with that definition, your position could be close to or way past the line.

OMD
Why are you asking him/us when 'You' is providing you an answer from a scholar?!

didn't know there was a hadith about television

They're not regarding television per se but the whole point of having ahadith was for the future generations, so that we could apply the same sunnaan of the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) in our modern life.

So the ahadith about lowerering your gaze, what you should avoid listening to etc. should also be applied when one is watching TV, listening to music....and so on. Would also like to point out that the same rules that apply outside in public/private also apply online or atleast one should look into it.

I'm no expert on interpreting ahadith so i can't really tell you whether TV is haram or not, for that you should go to a scholar you trust.

@Lilly i apologise for the hijacking of your thread (i blame Metallicdude) i wasn't gonna reply but you did first. Maybe we should just have a new thread for MetalicDude since he never stays on one topic :/

(he was being sarcastic)

How are u meant to lower your gaze AND watch tv?

"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi

what?

guys anyways, MUSIC IN 100% NOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTT HARAM.

TV either, but ONLY if it distraces you from prayer and other stuff.

Not literally :/ I mean you need to be in control of what you watch, if you know there's gonna be certain fitnah on a programme then you simply avoid watching that programme.

Plus it helps you avoid that awkward asian moment ("oiiii where's the remote?", "Change the channell" *awkward silence + nobody makes eye contact* and my favourite one, start a random convo about anything to avoid awkwardness e.g. "was this room always painted white?", "yo u wanna go shopping tomorrow" or " i killed a cat today" << if you can't think of anything else) Lol

You get my point though?

Lets reunite the ummah under one flag LA ILAHA IL ALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH

Stop either killing cats or lying about killing cats!

And that awkwardness occurs in EVERY family, not just asian

Don't just do something! Stand there.

even if it's "just" a kiss?

its getting wierd here...

Metallica58 wrote:

I listen to music as well (not addicted lol) but in my opinion, I don't think listening to music is haraam unless it leads to evil temptations and doings. BUT, I'm pretty sure its not?! :S

HEY GUYS, question:

I want to go with my friend at the mall... and it delays a little bit the asr time, and we cant go other times because we have to go to school for a thing, and its friday, deos it HAVE to me with many many peaple or 2 is = to a congregation, because his dad told him DONT GO TO THE MOSQUE, WHY? dont know

so just delaying it ... and making other extras, and not going too much, is it okay?????????????????????????????

tey say that drawing animate object are haram...
but Im NOT saying that I have th epower to create im just like making a dude (spongebob, mickey mouse, ) you know like cartoons... and the hadith... is it the hadit writenn by the prophet(saw)???

or is it written in the coran?

hadith are the sayings of the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) that were recorded down the line.

The qur'an is revelation from God.

Both are important.

It is possible to do art without drawing living things - look at the art styles of the middle east for 1400 years, it is quite good.

Just because you dont like them, doesn't mean they don't exist.
