I wish you all a very happy new year and I hope that this year you fulfill all of your dreams and for some of us to rediscover the strength and faith within ourselves.
To rejoice in simple pleasures and gear up for new challenges.
Today is a new year, with new hopes and aspirations.
New resolutions and promises.
This is a prayer that I am going to pray for you, I don't know any of you, but I'm starting to see you all as my friends now, maybe we can't pray for strangers I don't know. But we can definetly pray for friends! I want to thank you for all your nice and encouraging comments you gave me on my last blog (Custard and Jelly) I don't know how to word duas, but I believe that Allah (SWT) listens to what my heart says and understands.
May Allah (SWT) grant you all happiness and prosperity this year. May he give you the strength and the courage to tackle your obstacles . And for those who are sitting there exams, may he further your knowledge and help you achieve the best grades and may he bring out the best in all of us.
Ameen.
P.S. What are your new years resolutions?

Ameen. Same to you and everyone else
And I'm sure you can make dua for strangers
"May Allah(swt) make ur year a happy one! Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain, But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes; Not by making your path easy, But by making you sturdy to travel any path; Not by taking hardships from you, But by taking fear from your heart; Not by granting you unbroken sunshine, But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows. Ameen"

The new year started 26/27 days ago I think. That is when the first of Muharram was.

I already created a topic about the new Islamic year.

"Verily, in the remembrance of Allah, do hearts find rest"
and I will keep mentioning it when I feel it is necessary.
It may annoy people, but it also teaches them and the annoyance may remind them in the future, even though then the new year would have started a further ten days earlier.

Let's be honest; who cares?
Whatever works, works for people.
new year isnt even that big a deal. so why wish it? then if you're gona, then wish the muslim one. coz arent you muslim before anything else?
i cant see the POINT of new year.
im sorry, but i dont like this topic Sparkle, no hard feelings.
Backing Admin on that one.
how many times has he siad it though?
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
(on the other hand, it is a good thing to wish good on people) but we should as Lilly remembered be aware that for us, the 1st of January being the start of a new year is arbitrary distinction which has no significance other than time keeping. Same as for the years in the hijri calendar really - they were added to make sure people knew which year specific orders etc were for..

Yep I know that, in fact I celebrated that one than the english one.
The thing is I would have wished a happy new year then, but unfortunately at that time I was revisin for a very important exam and also there was a death in the family and so I was at my cousins house that week, so I didn't have any time to blog, in fact I hardly went on the computer then.
So I am sorry if I offended you in any way, but I still wish you all the best for this year.
If its no big deal then theres no need to mention anything IMO. Just wish them a good year in return, and move on.
It's good Mr You mentioned it here cuz some people might not have known. But tribune it was just taking the mick. He said he likes being an idiot sometimes, though. So its all good.

inshAllah, ameen.
No hard feelings taken. I can't please everyone can I?
Sometimes some people have had a not so good time in the past years or so and some people like to think that when the new year comes they would like to forget the past and start afresh. That is the POINT of new year. If evrything around you is saying happy new year then you can emotionally change as well. And be optimistic for once and maybe being happy and forgetting the hurt from the past can make you move on from it. You get my point?
Yes I agree I am a muslim and I'm proud to be one and I always put being a muslim first in anything and to be honest I did celebrate the muslim one (if you want to know why then the read through the comments and you will find the answer).
Anyways I'm not having a rant at you or anything, I'm just explaining some things.
I'm sorry if I ofended you in any way
