2 Hours, 6 Pages, No answers. I still love you, Maths!

Hummus —

Last night, when i was alone with my own thoughts, a thunder bolt struck me and decided to warn me that i had very less days and a few piles of work, homework, questions, notes, exam practice and revision to sift through.

So today, i woke up bright and early, prayed Fajr and got on with some lovely Maths Questions. This was at about 7.45. I spent just over two hours, (till 10.00 precisely) using 6 pages of working out, in my attempt to answer a 4 mark question, and after all that pain, i was clearly not getting anywhere.

My mum told me to simply try it later on, when im a little more fresh, and i told her 'Ive just prayed Fajr, how much more fresh do you want me to be?!'.

I was so close to screaming the roof off, crying and burrowing myself into a hole. It was just so so so hard, and i couldn't get round it. I found some nice integers and then when i put it back into the question, nuh uh, it was just totally wrong and i was making a mess out of it all.

Then i thought, why not start on Chemistry? It still has Maths in it, and i sailed through the 10 questions quite calmly and i think i've got every one of them correct. After all, they were basic, you know, Percentage Yield and Atom Economy questions, how much more simpler can Chemistry get?!

So i showered, and then about half an hour ago, a Maths whizz AKA our very own Lilly came along and saved me from the misery of this Maths Question. She totally put me to shame!

I blame all this on my love for Chemistry on one day of the entire year, which was yesterday, the 23rd of October. Its not like i was abandoning Maths for that one day. Maybe it just got jealous over the fact that i'd paid so much attention to Chemistry's Mole Day. Next year i will *try* not to be as excited in the hope that the following day Maths doesn't takes its revenge.

I dont remember ever spending that long on any questions. I you dont know the answer, skip it, look it up or ask someone.

(Maths is one of those subjects I think where if you don't know how to figure it out it straight away, you don't know it.)

I think I've learnt my lesson. Avoid time wastage. Ask someone. On that day I had to wait until others had woken them up. I can't exactly wake them up from their sleep demanding answers to Maths questions lol.

Yeah, it's true about you said. In Maths there is always a right answer. There is no such thing as "well that could be right and that could also be wrong". That's what makes it so much harder than everything else.

Math was always my nemesis. I hated it, I hated the way it looked, i hated the way it was taught and I hated how there was no middle ground; the answer was either right or wrong. No in between ... (-,-)

Then my lecturer told me i had to take 'accounts' to graduate. I hulked out, broke the table and threw my chair through the window before walking out of the class room...... atleast thats how it went down in my head lol.
