Australia suffering 'man drought'
Australia suffering 'man drought'
By Phil Mercer, BBC News, Sydney
An analysis of new census figures has shown that Australia is suffering from an unprecedented "man drought".
The statistics have revealed that there are almost 100,000 more females than males in Australia.
The problem is worse in the coastal cities, where women have moved seeking better jobs and lifestyles, while many men have gone overseas.
Thirty years ago Australia was with flush with men thanks to immigration policies that favoured males.
That position has been reversed because thousands of Australian men in their 20s and early 30s have gone overseas either to travel or to work.
It has caused a gender imbalance that is having far-reaching implications... Read more

Re: Australia suffering 'man drought'
Unless ofcourse alot of their males are of the homo kind. In which case they're not exactly ideal for breeding. That or they're all drunk from the barbi.
Women are always saying they dont need men. Well lets use Australia as an experiment and see what happens when the male species disappears from their lands. I theorise the national pass time will become shopping and instead of starbucks on every corner there will be shoe shops.

Well this experiment assumes there are no more men in Australia.
In the off chance on happens to walk by, the population of women will basically kill him off while fighting over him or simply nag him to death. Either way results in the untimely demise of the male.

not really... have you forgotten that a man can marry 4 women at one time... but a woman can only marry 1 man at a time? and that is in place or a specific reason!...... altho, in australia, i don't think marriage has much significance...
and anyways, they're not gna fight over him for 'him' ... but to keep him as their Butlers
I think you're forgetting 2 things:
1. This is Australia we're talking about. Meaning lawfully they cant marry more than once. Which means 100,000 women will be left single.
2. Majority of the guys left the country to go work abroad. So why would anyone stay as a butler?
Think about it. You'll be looking at the first world Lesbian Nation.

Cool!
you know there is a possiblity that the women decide to follow the male footsteps? ie. moving abroad and taking homosexuality worldwide!
Or the government will introduce males into the eco system in an attempt to get them to reproduce. Women will just have to control themselves.

trust me, if the goverment wants to take action, they won't need males in person... i won't go into details but finish off by saing that the government will be full of women who will use their brain and think of Gene engineering and biomed etc ie 'Technology'
Which is still decades off and no where near feesible.
I guess certain banks will be running dry.
