Any body here been interrogated in an airport?
especially since the dreadful day of g/ll.
I got interrogated for a short while when i visited new york soon after g/ll, but since then realised that muslim countries seem to be more nosy and interogative than non-muslim countries.
Who concurs?
when I went to Syria we had to take our shoes off at the airport going thru Heathrow, and when we landed their they opened my bag up and asked why I had a blender with me (I was taking it to a friend but thats another story). When I was coming back there were fewer checks, but a dog sniffed my bag (which I washed in mud when I got home!).
btw why does it matter how many checks u have to go thru if ur not planning on smuggling any contraband ?
On a related topic, I have an old friend who's into casual drugs etc. He told me that when he was coming back from Prague he had some ecstasy or something with him and they were performing random searches on people as they went thru customs. My friend (apologetically) told me that he purposely stood behind a lady wearing a hijab cos he thought she was more likely to be searched than him (a stubble-clad student off his face). He was correct with his assumption and got thru unscathed. This was presumably before they employed those sniffer dogs.

My wife and I got stopped, I flipped out and it was an all around unpleasant situation, everything was resolved though and I got the guy fired.
Becasue iot si annoying, inconvenient and takes time. Time you would rather spend elsewhere. Time not being searched.
Not that I travel much. My passport ran out in 2002 and I have not renewed it yet.

hmmmm... suspicious

I am too polite to be suspicious!

i for one am happy to put up with extra checks and wasted time if it adds to our security.
just because WE as muslims dont wish to blow up half the world, it is naive to suggest there are not any ppl who actually do.
however, i am sickened by racial profiling etc that goes on, and humilation of certain ppl eg
an elderly couple from Dubai who were on holiday in London last year and were denied going on the London Eye purely because they were speaking in Arabic. Also a couple of Pakistani guys on there way to holiday in Malaga and were hoisted off the plane at the last moment solely because they possesed beards (which can be very dangerous if they fall into the wrong hands. sorry, chins)
the was rightly an outcry from parts of the public and media regarding both these stories, and to be honest I havnt heard anything similar recently.
however, if muslims are targeted for racial profiling then it is Allah's will and we must all be patient, because patience is half of faith.
alhamdulillah

I never said I do not understand it, or that I will not put up with it.
But saying that it is still annoying, not matter how the profiling was done.

I dont mind being checked over. If I have nothing to hide - then whats the problem?
However, my dad begs to differ.
Travelling with him is always a riot.
it depends security need to do their job but wouldn't you feel harassed if you constantly got stopped everytime you wanted to travel abroad, this happens to some ppl. I've not been stopped but i've only travelled abroad once so the odds were low for me.
My bro got stopped today cz he looked a bit shifty :? anyway they just did a quick check and let him go.
