Destination Lost

**LOST**

ABOUT THE SHOW

After Oceanic Air flight 815 tore apart in mid-air and crashed on a Pacific island, its survivors were forced to find inner strength they never knew they had in order to survive. But they discovered that the island holds many secrets, including the intense howls of a mysterious creature stalking the jungle in the form of a dark cloud, as well as the appearance of a polar bear, a marooned and possibly crazy French woman, a mystical boar, a mysterious group known only as "The Others," all the survivors are connected somehow from their past, A set of mysterious numbers(4 8 15 16 23 42) that keep coming up, a ship called The Black Rock and... a hatch.

Thousands of miles off course and with no rescue in sight, they must work together to stay alive. But the survivors' pasts keep coming back to haunt them – and threaten the group's ability to endure.

The doctor, the rock star, the con man, the fugative, the lottery-winner, the priest, the iraqi-soldier, mysterious-pregnancy and the drama queen – the castaways are all different. But they are all lost.

The band of friends, family, enemies and strangers must continue to work together against the cruel weather and harsh terrain if they want to stay alive. But as they have discovered during their 40-plus days on the island, danger and mystery loom behind every corner, and those they thought could be trusted may turn against them. Even heroes have secrets.

In my opinon a fantastic show.

Yup, they should have made a one season show or something. Watched a few, was interesting, but it keeps going.

Just like Prison break. First one was ok. Second season I am not gonna watch.

They know it's a big ratings success so they're dragging it on for ages.

Note how nothing much happens in each episode.

Anyway, I saw the the last 12 episodes in one go a few months ago. Put me off watching the Ch4 episodes.

***** SPOILERS AHEAD ******

I bet nothing of any value happens, but a tonne more questions are asked.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

I've just seen a small preview to season 3 episode 1, we finally learn more about the others

Plus i also found this which is of interest: The numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 appear throughout the series, both in sequence and individually. They were broadcast from the Island's radio transmitter, and it was this message that drew Rousseau's expedition there. Although she later changes the message after the deaths of the rest of her team, the digits had also been heard by other people, eventually making their way to Hurley, who used them to win a lottery. After those around him suffer a series of misfortunes, he begins to believe the numbers are cursed. His search for their origin leads him to Australia. On the island, Hurley discovers the digits engraved on the hatch. They also appear inside the bunker, on medicine bottles, and constitute a code that must be entered into the Swan station's computer. The sum of these numbers, 108, has become significant in connection to the DHARMA Initiative.

According to the DHARMA Orientation video in the Lost Experience, the Numbers represent the core factors of the Valenzetti Equation. Which was supposedly an equation that could forecast the end of the world.

We don't know (haven't been told) what the numbers mean to the Others.

This'll probably be something we discover in the course of this series.

But are the Others part of the Dharma Initiative or are they usurpers?

In one of the orientation videos they showed the "scientist" who was behind the Dharma Initiative. He had a beard and was big and fat. But the apparent leader of the Others is that short skinny bloke who they locked in the cupboard.

As far as I know the Others have said or done nothing regarding the numbers.

Thats true they've not really said whats the connection between them two but when Jack was talking to Juliette she did say they were 'once a part of the Dharma Initiative' but admitted that was a long time ago.

But what i wanna find out is whats with that smoke monster?

Back in BLACK

I watched one episode near the middle, was ok but really confusing so I didn't bother watching it again but seems a lot of people make a fuss over it so must be interesting.

Just watched Episode 2 of season 3. We find out more about the Others as Jack, Kate and Sawyer are help captive. But mostly focuses on Jinn and Sun.

"The Others" are mysterious inhabitants of the island whose presence predates the crash of Flight 815, as well as Danielle Rousseau's arrival. In addition to kidnapping Rousseau's daughter, Alex, as an infant, the Others have infiltrated the Flight 815 survivors' camps on at least two occasions, and are responsible for the deaths of at least two castaways and the unexplained disappearances of many others.

Turns out they have a propper settlement on the Island (like a modern everyday small town) and have contact with the outside world as they tell Jack "Bush got re-ellected, Christopher Reeves died and the Red Sox won the World Series". They have suggested that they were once part of the Dharma Initative.

Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
