Salaam.
The politically minded will already know of the 'big scandal' currently going on.
For those that do not the simple version is thet Tessa Jowell, the secretary of state for culture is currently in the docks for 'breaking the ministerial code' by not declaring lumps of money aid to her (since yesterday ex) husband By silvio Berlusconi for allegedly giving favourable evidence on his behalf.
Now I am glad that this is in the open, because I have an inkling that british politics is rotting with corruption. There is far too much coincidence in it.
So anyone have any views? Omrow?
Yeh i found it kinda funny, how a few days after the revelation of the bribe, she decides to seperate from her husband, in the process saving her job. Also informing the press about the situation.
But, therz no proof of corruption in the big fish, Tony n his right handers seem sqeeky clean. ~Allthough I bet they are majority share holders in an arms company who sells to the Military.

Some ppl make their goals the stars.
They may live n die n never reach the stars,
but in the darkness of the night, those stars will guide them to their destination.
Becuz they made them in their eyesight
what? squeaky clean?
Just go back a few years, and look up the bernie ecclestone affair.
Then go forward a few years, and look up the Hinduja brothers. And then a few more years forward, and look up the contract that was awarded to produce a vaccine to anthrax.
Ofcourse all three were called 'party political donations which had nothing to do with government policy' even though there was a favourable outcome pretty immediately after the 'donations'.
This gov positively reeks of corruption.

Tessa was tossed by Silvio. For the affair, he wanted to give her half a million as a thank you. This amount had to be paid undirectly through her unsuspecting husband David.
David secretly kept 156 000, to pay for his own pleasures. He came home and lied to Tessa that he got only 344,000. She belled loverboy Silvio who swore by the holy ghost that he paid the amount as agreed. She was furious, but could not exactly reveal this to her traitor husband. In disgust she left him.
This divorce was not a political move. It was personal.

Omrow
...four years later after the bung was made public.
It was political. And for NewLabour this is becoming a trackrecord.
Get caught. Resign to spend time with the family. Come back four months later after a 'rest'. Then get caught out again. Resign, saying the media is doing a disservice to the post, and you do not want to marr the government. come back about a year later. Get caught out again...
Its not a coincidence. its a trend.

we were just studying the issue of corruption in government n politics n british politics is really corrupt n its all driven by money n greed. there were several cases where money hungry politicians disgraced themselves, like Neil Hamilton and the "cash for questions affair" when he asked questions for Harrods owner Mohammed Al Fayed in parliament.

Funnily enough I do not have a problem with that.
Asking questions is diferent from formulating policy.
