When to call it quits?
1. There is no magazine.
2. The site is more or less abandoned
3. The price for hosting this site has increased marginally.
So the question is when to call it quits.
There is a big part of me that says keep the site running, making small changes/improvements and the hosting costs are negligible.
The smaller aprt says that every soul must taste death and if this site continues it will only waste people's efforts - people who could spend that time doing something more productive as for people wanting to use therevival for da'wah, it takes ten times more effort than it should.
Thoughts?

Re: When to call it quits?
We do have twitter: https://twitter.com/therevivalvotmy - or do you mean something else?
The way it works is when anyone creates a blog or topic on this site, there is a checkbox that says post to twitter. ticking it tweets the title and the link - yes that does mean site members can have some fun with the twitter account.
There is also a facebook page, but I am not on facebook and I don't know its link or if it is used.
Re: When to call it quits?
Sorry, didn't know that. You should use them more often. 🙂
Re: When to call it quits?
Now. Now is the time to call it quits.
Re: When to call it quits?
I agree with TPOS.
The facebook page seems active.
Re: When to call it quits?
I shall stay silent lol.

Unfaithful revivalers
Re: When to call it quits?
If there are people around who want to turn this place into a social activism platform and have specific requirements, I would be interested to know.
Re: When to call it quits?
Is there a way to keep old forum threads but just stop the use of forums? Keep it to blogs only?
Then find a way to automatically/have an option to post blogs directly to the revvy Fb page like with twitter - my latest blog has 15 twitter shares vs 1 fb share/like, not being egotistical (lol) but I reckon it would have more fb if it was exposed over there, especially since the fb page is apparently quite active.
Also allow people to comment via Fb and twitter identities and display the comments on here (rather than having the comments only on Fb for example.) I'm assuming you have to have a certain kind of site for this but "disqus" comments are the sorta thing I mean where you have an option to post as a user or through Fb/twitter
I think these things may increase the activity on here.

I don't know If i speak for myself or for the current and regular users too but we might be more successful as a social activism platform and "The Revival" is an appropriate name too. I feel more passionate and enthusiastic about causes like that.
I think you should create a new tab at the top just as you have Home, Events, Tribune etc. Within it all campaigns, petitions, protests and raising awareness videos should be placed.
Let's give it a go.
🙂
Re: When to call it quits?
Asalaamu Alaikum, It depends who your target market is and the purpose of this forum. Is it a bit like MPACUK forum which is not currently running?
I personally still paste my articles on here for dawah purposes because even if one person benefits then it is worth it as the costs are far outweighed with the rewards in the Hereafter.
Do you know how many hits you get onto this site on a daily basis?

these two points, i think this would REALLY work. i dont know how to go about doing it but i really think this will work.
we cant shut down the site. change, transform, not shut down.
If you get Twitter and fb pages and add buttons to posts that enable Tweets and fb posts to the site page, if that is possible, since I notice you do have share buttons on the blogs, you might enhance the relevance as it is pretty much a given then that there will be more two-way traffic flow. If there is no magazine and no other marketing it is all very ill-defined and self-contained, but you might be tempted to try that one last effort and see if it works.
