A NEW YEAR CELEBRATION - FLEEING PERSECUTION

This talk will explore how the Muslim New Year celebrates a fresh beginning for the Muslim
community after they fled for Medina to escape their persecutors in Makkah. All Welcome regardless
of faith, age or gender.

A panel discussion will follow the main talk on issues related to present day persecution,refugees
and Asylum seekers with invited speakers from the refugees, NGOs and others.

* Sheikh Noor Siddiqi is the Vice Principal of Hijaz College in Nuneaton, where he also teaches
hadith. He has worked and travelled worldwide to promote a better understanding of Islam. He is
also a solicitor by profession.
