So tomorrow evening is the dinner, I mean Iftaar. I decided to cut a few things from the menu since my brother (I think is was) was saying that everyone will be full quickly and that the food will be left, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but the fridge gets pretty full and then we have no storage space.
So I’m doing one thing per um section (let me just copy, paste – oh and edit, it here):
Starter:
Lebanese Borek
Chocolate-covered Dates (doesn’t really count because it’s just to open the fast with)
Salad:
Tabbouleh
Side:
Batata makhliya
Black and Green Olives and pickled chillies (I forgot what they’re actually called and can’t be bothered to go down to check)
Main:
Shawarma lahm kharoof
Batata Harra (the main for the friend who doesn’t eat Halaal)
Dessert:
Baklawa
(and something else if I have time)
Drink:
Going to buy them tomorrow so we’ll see
So you see I have cut down an immense amount, I wish I could say that it was solely because we aren’t meant to make extravagant dishes but in reality that’s only partttt of the reason. I’ve been thinking about this so much that I’ve had two dreams about it. TWO. Thus I needed a non complicated menu.
Plus today I thought the meat had been used for something else and I had a tantrum (kinda). Then I couldn’t taste the Borek which meant I had to make them after opening the fast (I did them all by myself!) I also put the meat (after I found it) to marinate (until tomo so the flavours soak right through) and then decided that I should also make the dressing for the salad so I know what it tastes like.
Oh and the invitation list has changed too. There are going to be 6 people (all of whom confirmed attendance today) so yeh should be interesting.
There was something else I was going to say but I can’t remember now so I’ll end it there, hopefully I’ll take a picture and upload it on here (if I don’t become lazy about it). Going to hopefully have a decent night’s sleep – oh wait I remembered! I had a blood test today! The last time I had a blood test, I realised I was a little woozy at the slight of blood going into the tube thing. So this time I focused on the purple dotty thing on the doctors desk, helped – a little. Still hurt though.
Anyway so, menu prepared, anything that is able to be done today, done. Amigos confirmed attendance – check.
Only one more thing left to decide.. What to wear! (Hmm I might just stay in my joggers).

Good luck with that.
