The Confession Box

I was just sat here with nothing to do reading through a few old posts (as one does on a rainy dull Sunday Morning) and thought it might not be a bad idea to have an annonymous Confession Box style section on here.

I know a lot of people share stories etc about what's going on with them and things they want advice on etc, but what about those topics thta people want advice on, but don't for what ever reason want others to know it's from them?

Not that I have anything such like topic to get off my chest, but I just thought it might be a good idea?

Who else has though we should have something like this?

Comments

Yes, it is a good idea, let's see how many people confess and what advice can be given to them.. Smile

I don't get how this is supposed to work :S What kind of stuff do we write about?
Would u like to go first ...

"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi

This might get personal. I'm sure people won't be using their accounts to write about their life. Im thinking, they'll use Anonymous or something when adding info.

I would go first, but the only problem with that is, even if my name didn't come up, people would know it;s me cos I've said I'll go first.

It's supposed to work in a simmilar way to the Blog. You write something about what's going on in your life or in the life of someone close to you. And people post their thought, how they dealt with simmilar experiences, advice etc.

But because you won't know whoa it's from the authour can write things they otherwise might not?

Was just a thought. But now thinking about it, as no one personally knows anyone anyway, I gess it might even be a not so wise idea.

Back to the drawing board I go....

Just a note of warning, christian types of confessionals are for christians only - the muslim way is to keep schtum.

but hsaring problems, asking for advice is different from that.

Seriously?

Yes, hide your sins/others sins and Allah will hide yours on the day of judgement. Smile of course that doesn't mean you should be a hypocrite either (hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of hell) and if you're looking for advice etc then it's ok to reveal such stuff.

I didn't mean lets start a gossip column. What I meant is we all face simmilar issues in life and we have a way of getting advice the when others face the same issue they will know what to do?

Other wise it's a bit like sweeping it under the carpet and not facing up to stuff?

I think admin was giving a heads up. For advice it's fine. Smile

it's allowed if you're asking for help. The Hadith that talks about revealing your sins talks about boasting Afaik - I'm sure you won't be boasting!

Erm people do boast about how many girls they've been with etc

They may not be using the technical terms but it's still revealing sins and boasting.

I confess that when I first saw that there were lots of replies on this, I thought the comments would be a lot juicier.
