Let's Talk about Epilepsy! (this title is not suppose to be too enthusiastic)

What do you know of it?
Ever seen someone have a "grand mal"/huge seizure?
Do you know of anyone on the medication? do they work? are they worth it?
what would you do if you had epilepsy, would you take the meds? even though they dont cure just TRY and control?

feel free to ask any other questions, lets talk about epilepsy.

The title sounds way too enthusiastic.

Yes, I'd take the meds, if there's nothing better.

even if your seizures were like a year/half a year apart?

i mean the first time you take the meds. you arent safe from ahving a seizure again. coz its not 2dosed" to you yet. so until your next seizure you wont know if the meds are effective.

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

well if I thought the meds would help then yes, if not then I wouldn't take them. You say they're to control them, so if someone doesn't take them then they might be more frequent, no?

I don't really know much about epilepsy and it's treatment, this is just the logic I would use for any illness.

If they do more harm than good, then I probably wouldn't take them.

i odnt know abt harm...they've got to be serious drugs to control you having an attack so they've got to have side effects of some sort...

the harm's in the having to take them constently everyday. i know i wouldnt be able to do it..too muh of a pain.

Like I said, if they do *more harm* than good. Especially if it's supposed to be just to control, rather than cure.

another question. would epilepsy be a factor when considering someone to marry? for you personally. would you marry someone if they had epilepsy?

The meds may make the episodes less serious or less often.

and they are also tried on other guinea pigs, so the taker should be fine.

yeah...dont sound worth it except if you've got badass epilepsy. what's scary though is that thing where you get an attack after another with no break. i wonder if the meds do anything for that...
