The Nemesis Theory: Explanation for Mass Extinction on Earth

Nemesis' existence was proposed by Whitmire and Jackson in Nature in 1984, 308, 713-715, and also by Davis, Hut & Muller in 1984 (Nature 308 : 715-717) to explain an apparent 26-million year cycle in the occurrence of mass extinctions on Earth.

It's hard to let go, admits Blair

Tony Blair

The speech in full
Tony Blair admitted "it's hard to let go" as he used his last Labour conference speech as leader to urge the party to unite and win a fourth term.

He won a long standing ovation, telling an emotional Labour gathering: "You're the future now, make the most of it."

Winning the next election was the only legacy he had ever wanted, he said.

He praised Gordon Brown and laughed off his wife's alleged criticism: "At least I don't have to worry about her running off with the bloke next door."

8 Simple Rules For Buying a Baby
According to Zenit News Service, "babies (are) bought, sold and traded."

The report regards this as "a dark side of the consumer mind-set. Abortion advocates’ decades-long push to deny or downplay the humanity of the unborn child is bearing fruit. Unborn children are increasingly being treated like consumer products. . ."

Real live humans are being traded off sometimes as tissue for beauty treatments.

Kiss Me Baby!

Hi

I dont like public displays of affection especially kissing. I can barely stand people walking around holding hands but kissing is where i draw the line.

There seemed to be quite a few people doing this the other day must be the warm weather tends to affect people strangely.

I dunno... maybe im being a prune but is even holding hands allowed in Islam?
Kissing in public is definately a 'no no' and tends to be something reserved for the married couples in the sanctity of their own homes. What people do in their own homes is their business but please keep it at home.

I dunno ...

Chity Chity Bang Death

In Islam we are taught that all life is precious and death is simply the next step. Life and death is determined by God, destiny and your choices.

Life is something that God has bestowed upon mankind and only he can take it away. Dire consequences await those who break this law. Suicide is strictly forebidden and earns you a one way ticket to hell where you shall burn... and some other bad stuff.

So what exactly happens if you attempt suicide? But fail for whatever reason, is the punishment the same? but what about attempted murder? You tried... or thought about...

I am Seraph, Hear Me Roar!

Hi all,

what i really dislike in some people is them bragging about themselves e.g. Oh im soo rich... ive got the latest shoes... oh my dads owns a huge mansion... ive got a mercades.... my son has a first class degree in blah blah blah! What is it with people who like to blow their own horn?

And if it was just people who bragged about their everyday stuff like above, id just ignore it as their mindless ranting.

UK Hit By Bird-Flu

Sometime in the early hours of this morning a swan walked into a chemist in Scotland with the intent to buy some Lemsip.

Later tests have revealed the swan had tested positive for bird flu. This is the first case of bird flu in Britain but it has yet to be confirmed if this is the strain that can affect humans.

A 1.8-mile protection zone to prevent poultry being moved is in place around Cellardyke in Fife, where the bird was found eight days ago.

The Rise Of Islam In India

Hi All,

This ones really for the people who know their Islamic History (seems to be a constant area of interest for me).

Does anyone know how Islam arrived in India back in the day and if there was any major events that took place at/or around this place e.g. battles etc...

If anyone has any good links or articles on this that would be appreciated too.
