The Trump Presidency on Palestinian rights

President Donald Trump being sworn in on January 20, 2017 at the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C

The Trump Presidency has started and barring any intervening acts, will last for either 4 or 8 years.

Now most people on social media are hyperventilating with either deep despaire or deep hope. Both are probably mistaken about their fears and hoples, but some of the things they fear /hope will happen.

While there is much debate about the impact of the Trump presidency on many things, there is less debate about its impact on the rights of Palestinians – where it will likely be a bigger catastrophe than previous American involvement.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli right wing already considered it a major win when Trump won the US presidential elections.

Israel's elections: Netanyahu's predicament does not matter

Israel is going to elections on 17 March 2015.

Recent news reports suggest that Netanyahu's campaign has started to falter recently. But it doesn't matter.

Left or right, "peaceniks" or hawks, it does not matter- none of them are willing to negotiate for peace with the Palestinians.

It was the "moderate doves" that started this new tradition of pummeling Gaza for political gain in 2009. If they return to power, nothing stops them from acting in line with their past performance.

The only glimmer from either side is that Netanyahu's bellicose performances help deligitimise Israel actions.

Israeli Arab citizens? Behead them! says Avigdor Lieberman

Threat to behead Arab israeli politician Hanin Zoabi following Lieberman's call to behead arabs

Those are the current foreign Minister of Israel.

He wants to cleanse the nation of those who did not pack up and leave in 1948, 1967 or since.

Now if this guy had a name that sounded like Ahmedinejad, he wouldnt even have to have said what he did to have it plastered over the world's newspapers and news sites.

But since it doesn't, even though he did ask for the murder of Israeli arabs "opposed to us", it wont be reported, especially in the occupied territories of BBC News.

Online, this threat has been turned into an ISIS style threat to behead Israeli arab politician Hanin Zoabi

One year since #Rabaah Massacre

It was a year ago when the Rabaah massacre occurred in Egypt.

It was horrible and worse still, the social media and other sources were full of people defending the massacre.

Especially on social media, where those killed were blamed for killing themselves.

Human rights watch has recently released a report which compiles the evidence that the massacre was not accidental but deliberately staged and planned.

It was due the coup in Egypt and subsequent inhumane situation where the voices of the oppressed were being drowned out that I got twitter. to challenge the lies and propaganda.

A year later and it is Israel's assault and massacres in Gaza where the misinformation needs to be challenged.

Zionist Hasbara love facts (No they dont)

The ZIonist Hasbara loves facts. It loves them so much it doesnt use any, prefering lies instead.

It is useful to have some facts to hand to beat back hyperbole and nonsensical arguments.

Someone has compiled a useful set of links that can be used to combat the Hasbara propaganda:

Its good to keep it handy because we have facts and the truth on our side - we don't need to get angry or insult, we can prove our points and show what the Hasbara shills present as the lies they are.

Surprise Surprise, Hamas didn't kidnap & kill the 3 Israeli teens after all

When the bodies of three Israeli teenagers, kidnapped in the West Bank, were found late last month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not mince words. "Hamas is responsible, and Hamas will pay," he said, initiating a campaign that eventually escalated into the present conflict in the region.

But now, officials admit the kidnappings were not Hamas's handiwork after all.
