I don't know.

It's not like he didnt have many others executed.

He was more lynched than executed.

Just reading the updates on this on the and it mentioned this nugget:

Fidel Castro, the former leader of Cuba, has attacked the NTC for its treatment of Gaddafi's body, which he said was "kidnapped and exhibited like a trophy of war, a conduct that violates the most elemental principles of Muslim norms and other religious beliefs".

Trust it to be non Muslims who have to remind Muslims about Islam.
