The Alimiyyah Course 2015

Event Date:
Tuesday, 4 August, 2015 - 19:30

Whoever treads a path in search of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him the path to Jannah.[Bukhari]

The Alimiyyah course is an intensive study programme for those brothers and sisters who are able to make a serious commitment to studying sacred knowledge. The course is taught by teachers qualified with a sanad (chain of narration) through which sound knowledge of the Islamic sciences is transmitted, allowing students to gain a deep and comprehensive understanding of the religion.

After completing the course, students are formally qualified as ‘alims/’alimahs and are equipped to put their knowledge to use for the benefit of the community at large. Our full-time curriculum includes detailed study of the Arabic language, including sarf (morphology), nahw (grammar) and spoken and written skills. This then opens the doors for a student to dive into the vast ocean of Islamic knowledge, studying fiqh (jurisprudence), hadith, Qur’an recitation and tafsir (exegesis), as well as legal studies, aqida (theology) and much more. An enrichment programme also provides students with an insight into the broader context of Islam in history, in our current context and equips them with the skills they need to become ambassadors for the Muslim community.

The Alimiyyah course is a long-term, full-time programme that requires considerable effort, commitment and most importantly sincerity, with a view to acting upon the knowledge gained and using it for the benefit of the ummah throughout one’s future life.
